In Case You Don't Like Romney...
Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election
If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, Id just ask you to keep four things in mind:
1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78
2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year
3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August
4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.
Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.
If you dont think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think youre smokin something funky .
So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didnt get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:
'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'
Did that get your attention!
bramps, if it really came down to it, I'd flip a coin and leave it to fate. Why? Because Obama or Romney, it's the same coin, just different sides. You believe firmly otherwise, I know -- but that's you. I've been following Romney since 2007 when Hugh Hewitt, a talk show host I greatly admired and trusted, spoke highly of him. I thought, "Great! This Romney guy may be just what the doctor ordered!"
Then I did my due-diligence, as all voters should, and become disillusioned. I've been reading and researching Romney and his record for about six years now. My decision to reject Romney is a very well informed one, and one arrived at over considerable time and consideration.
The knee-jerk instant response of ABO, on the other hand, is hasty and, therefore, risks being pretty shallow.
You cannot be blamed for my ignorance. I’ve heard of the book and movie many, many times, but just never inhaled either.
I do think it important to be proud of our vote because it is an expression of our character and values. I understand why some folks might at times feel tempted to try to get real clever by voting for one unworthy candidate in an effort to evade another unworthy candidate, but such bank shots will by design lead to an unworthy result.
Voting is too important for such games. Win or lose, I’ll be proud of my vote and I won’t be looking back with regret.
1: Trust me, he messes with them big time. One set of posts encuraged them to join the “Bug Chaser” movement. (Our FRiend is NOT gay nor a Bug Chaser.)
2; Other than Hillary in a convention challange, whom?
MARK!
I’ll continue to add ...value to these discussions...

Oh you do ..
Your presence does give us the opportunity to add valuable info about Willard and his chosen false religion...
Stick around kid...
You are useful...

I almost done it, but YOU done did it!
If you’re going to butt in at least do your homework and note why I asked that specific question.
Don’t know. But I stand by my previous post.
Ifr the DNC run Hillary the GOP-e will dump Willard like a hot potato...
Willard is OK to them if he can win by defauly against an unpopulart Obama...
But he cant win against Hillary...

Is it a secret?

Oh, I forgot. Just humor us. I wont tell anyone.
The problem with that is, with all those delegates, the Chair will probably move the nomination of Mr. Romney by acclimation.... and that ends it early.

Somehow, I don't think it turned out the way Mindbender anticipated.
M akes no sense to me.
And, Sister Betty, why do you see a problem with being called situationally principled when that is what you are arguing for?
