In Case You Don't Like Romney... A Challenge To Every FReeper
email from friend

In Case You Don't Like Romney...

Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election …

“If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, I’d just ask you to keep four things in mind:

1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78

2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year

3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August

4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.

Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court — in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.

If you don’t think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think you’re smokin’ something funky….”

So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didn’t get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:

'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'

Did that get your attention!

I am not 35, nor a lean stud, nor will Mr. Goode be elected.

So let us take a few guesses, are you now between 60 and 70, and/or a fat impotent slob who sold out to Mitt-Witt?

Flip ALL the cards over Arlene, we got a winner! LOL

In comparison, that makes Virgil Goode look pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

I enjoy talking with the boys who visit. Some even seem to respond favorably to hearing the Word spoken in conversational Southern English. As for the JW teams that venture here, it’s tougher to separate the proselyte from his or her handler and have an honest discussion. Handlers seem much more hardened in their religious stances. I talk to members of both sects on my front porch, even in winter.

You hateful whippersnapper!

I have NEVER said that!

Oh really? Pinging tha group? Trying to intimidate me. Hey, when Jim Robinson or the Admin moderators tell me to shut up, I'll comply. It's their site

Until then, I'll continue to add my opinions and add value to these discussions... The mods have access to all of my posts... I've abided by the rules. Period. So... I don't take directive from you

YOU posted this towards another FReeper yesterday, and you say I have attitude?

Go scre# yourself.

That's really rich.

My post to Mr. Lodi was appropriate and proportional to his previous post to me.

And you can do the very same thing, minus the '#' symbol.

Enjoy it while you can troll, I predict you won't be here by the end of the month.

What an interesting thought.
Neither convention has happened so the reality is we do not (can only surmise) who will be nominated.
If the economy continues in the down slide will the dems tell BHOK to go home and nominate someone else on the convention floor?
Will the republicans nominate someone other than Romney?
This summer is going to be like political Christmas morning.

Sorry, but everyone elase got it back at post 117 when I listed 59 reasons he gave to not vote for McCain. These were not my reasons or assumptions, they were a DIRECT 59 POINT QUOTE from his FR home page.

Since most FReepers do their civic duty and vote, and the only two electable candidates were Mr. McCain and Mr. Obama, who do you think he was advocating for, Jabba the Hut? Felix the Cat? My Mother The Car?

If you don’t see that as an (in your words) “implication” to support Obama, and since every non-vote is effectively a half-vote for the opponent, is your problem math, reading or logic?

Everyone is anxiously awaiting your reading that evidence, ok? Don’t keep us in suspense!

Absolutely not. You may post anything you like. I have a problem only with those who are insulting those of us who have stated quite clearly we are not voting for Romney and I have tried to say, insults are not persuasive. I sincerely do not understand insulting someone simply because they have a different opinion than I. Though of course, I do have to say again, I have been married to a yellow dog democrat for 46 years...We learned early on we simply have different opinions. Does not mean one of us is right and one wrong. It simply means we do not agree on something and that is not the end of the world. Esp when it comes to politics.

If I didn’t love Free Republic, I’d leave and not bother with all this. I just want Free Republic to redeem its sanity and position in the political world.

FR has NOTHING to do with same sex marriage and pro baby killing candidates. It is a CONSERVATIVE SITE. So your 'love' confession is as PHONEY as your Mitt/Obama. Your love fest IS WITH liberals, not conservatives - so find your way home, it is NOT here, you are LOST!

The pit is where your type of 'sanity' and 'position' comes from and where it will end up.

I VOTE ZOT!

SoConPubbie listed reasons why conservatives should NOT vote for McCain. Once again you demonstrate a lack of comprehension, you opine that if one does not support McCain (or in this case Romney), they automatically support 0bama, which as I already pointed out to you, is a LIE.

But that makes a great deal of sense, considering that lies and flip-flops are all part of Romney's stock in trade, and you're emulating him exceptionally well.

Since most FReepers do their civic duty and vote, and the only two electable candidates were Mr. McCain and Mr. Obama, who do you think he was advocating for, Jabba the Hut? Felix the Cat? My Mother The Car?

I had no idea that you had family members seeking elective office.

I follow the rules, and give my opinion. That includes rooting against Obama... If that, in your mind, means I'm pimping Romney, that's your opinion... But I don't know how else you get someone else to lose without having someone win, and that would be Romney.... Period

As for you telling me to screw myself- stay classy.. Telling me I'm gone by month-end... We'll see. Like I said, I abide by the rules... If you don't like it, that's too bad. It's called an opinion for a reason.

No one cares ENOUGH about any other candidate to stage a REAL floor fight at the RNC. Certaibly Goode, Paul and Gingrich will be nominated. Maybe even Lyndon LaRouche.

The problem with that is, with all those delegates, the Chair will probably move the nomination of Mr. Romney by acclimation.... and that ends it early.

The real cliffhanger may be the DNC.

The Clintonistas are positioning Hillary for a possible convention fight if (and that’s a big “if”) she chooses it.

It ain’t over, by far.

There seems to be a vested interest in having the Republic collapse, believing that somehow these same ABR ultraChristian conservatives will then have an opportunity to rebuild a Republic in a more conservative image. It is tantamount to forgetting that We The People are the sovereigns responsible for this mess because We The People elected these crooks and scoundrels.

If we do not unelect them then we have abdicated our role as sovereigns and tossed away the opportunity for God to bless US through our repsonsible actions. When one decides to let Obama continue to destroy because the single most likely opposition is too liberal for their taste, they have abdicated their responsibility to unelect the corrupt elected ones. If Romney is not better in some ways than Barack Obama, they still have a responsibility to UNELECT the scoundrel communists running things now! And that RESPONSIBILITY of The sovereigns extends right down the ballot to the lowest office.

If We The People do not uphold our responsibilities in common, we cease to have common sovereignty. But I get flamed by the geniuses on this board for stating that reality, so you should see it is near futile to try and reason with the too righteous for their own good sovereigns.

We have a freeper running for the presdiency who has used the issue of abortion as an empowerment scheme for years, refusing ANY stepwise approach to reversing the evil of Roe v Wade. This exercise of use MormonISM to attack Romney has the same flavor to it.
