According to the Wall Street Journal, Polish officials requested that Walesa accept the Medal of Freedom on behalf of Jan Karski, a member of the Polish Underground during World War II who was being honored posthumously this week. The request makes sense. Walesa and Karski shared a burning desire to rid Poland of tyrannical subjugation. But President Obama said no.

Thanks for the post.
Very revealing article. Exposes the Commie Bastard in chief.
Obama’s s against freedom loving people are never ending. November cannot come fast enough
There is VAST difference between Romney and 0bama.
I guess the Petulant Won finally gets his revenge.
Few observers are suggesting that President Obamas written remarks noting Polish death camps were intentionally malicious. The comment was more likely a result of historical ignorance and careless inattention. This is the same ignorance and carelessness that would cause a president to turn away Lech Walesa and label him as too political.
The Hell if "Polish death camps" wasn't intentionally malicious. The deliberate snub to Walesa, one of the four great heroes of freedom, along with Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and John Paul II, who did more to destroy the Evil Empire than anyone else, shows how utterly he resents that victory, America, and anyone who contributed to that victory and how much he's committed to helping our enemies, domestic and foreign, to destroy the United Staes. That snub also shows that he deliberately used "Polish death camps" to insult our allies, the Poles, just as he deliberately insulted the Brits by returning the Churchill bust. He's an utterly contemptible subhuman anti-American traitor, communist, and secret Muslim that must be flushed out of the presidency ASAP.
A lot can be made of this. There are a lot of Proud Polish people in Illinois and Wisconsin. Romney and the 501s should run target newspaper, magazine, radio and tv ads in those areas showing Obama's treatment of the legendary Polish leader.
This could unbelievably put Illinois in play and put Wisconsin over the top.
Just looking at that picture makes my stomach hurt.
“...President Obama Shuns Lech Walesa...”
Well, of COURSE he would...
Lech Walesa fought AGAINST communists.
Thanks for not insulting dog shit by calling it Obama. He’s a lot lower and more toxic.
Obama is OAD. OAD = OAnalDischargula
It would send a very powerful message! But there is no way that the Romney team would use it, or allow it to be used.
Romney's team is like McCain's team in 2008. They won't attack Obama where he's really vulnerable.
The day “O” got a Nobel prize was the day that all prior and future recipients ought to be given 10 each!!!
I think Obama and Axelrod were expecting another withering McCain, too, but they are reeling with Romney's punches and counter punches.
As a commenter on the original article said, Walesa should take Obama’s snub as a badge of honor. Among those Obama has insulted are Winston Churchill, The Queen of England, Benjamin Natanyahu and the Dalai Lama.
I would join that group any day!
Maybe so.
But Romney is not likely to insult the Polish nation TWICE in the same week!!
And his chances of getting a Nobel Peace Prize merely for being elected President are zero. That will give him a lot less temptation to be arrogant than obama.
Fascism and Socialism are both forms of Hegelianism, a belief that society can best be governed by combining legislative, executive, and judicial powers under one central committee.
Both forms reject an omniscient, omnipotent God.
In so doing they reject Gods authority and morality including the unalienable-inalienable rights of all free peoples and embrace the morality of a Dear Leader, e.g Stalin, Hitler.
Makes sense. Walesa and Maobama are on opposite sides(Walesa being good and Maobama being bad of course).
But on Friday (May 2011), Walesa once again answered the call to duty and announced he would not accept fellow Nobel Peace laureate President Obama's invitation to meet with him in Poland after the G-8 Summit in France.

This may be part of the reason Obama dissed him.
