Sen. Ron Johnson said Thursday that every member of the state legislature in Wisconsin received an email that said were going to put a bullet in your head. We know where you and your family live.
Johnson, speaking in Washington, D.C. at Americas Future Foundations annual gala, said that at the height of Gov. Scott Walkers fight against the unions, every member of the state legislature was threatened.
The story really wasnt told properly we had every member of the state legislature get an email that said, Were going to put a bullet in your head. We know where you and your family lives. Now, that wasnt reported very well because I guess thats not newsworthy when its a union thug making a threat against a conservative.
Johnson told The Daily Caller that the high level of intimidation and political divisiveness in Wisconsin is due to Walkers fight to reign in spending pushed by public sector unions.
Scott Walker did a hard thing he actually solved a problem, and he did it in a way that recognized and addressed one of the growing problems here, and that is really the power of the public sector unions and, I would say, the unholy alliance between elected officials that get supported by those unions and the unions themselves, Johnson told TheDC.
Johnson also spoke about the U.S. Supreme Courts impending decision on Obamacare. He admitted that Republicans dont have a plan for what they intend to do if Obamacare is ruled unconstitutional and said that he believes Americans are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
I wish we could say that we absolutely have that nailed, but Id say we dont. I think there are a number of all kinds of different alternatives and theres some really good ideas from a number of different members of Congress. Im not afraid that were not going to be able to come to a consensus, I would just say we havent come to that consensus yet.
We collectively are suffering from the Stockholm syndrome here
when a hostage somebody that has been kidnapped is thankful, grateful for any ounce of mercy their captors show them. Thats whats happening. We are begging to be allowed to maintain that last ounce, that last shred of freedom.
Was this reported the authorities? Email can be traced in some cases and making these threats public will go a ways towards making them ineffective.
It is hard to believe this was never reported by any of the media outlets (unless I missed it totally). Also the way this was written there seems to be no distinction between the Rep and the Dems when it comes to who was threatened.
Not even sure I believe this.
What's to "admit"? Back to the free market and the private insurance industry, that should be the stated "plan". If anybody wants to get fancy, they can eliminate the pointless limitations on state-to-state plans.
It’s easier for you to believe that a conservative would lie about getting death threats, than to believe that the MSM would bury that kind of story?
since I went and made the effort...
“In a post on Saturday (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog), I noted that the wire service treated the arrest of Katherine Windels for issuing death threats to all but one of the GOP’s state senators as a local story. Later on Saturday, NB’s Noel Sheppard noted the virtual absence of media coverage of Windels’ arrest on any broadcast network newscast or cable new show (except Fox’s O’Reilly Factor).”
But I didn’t see it on FNC either. Was it reported?
The MSM was totally in the tank for the unions. And many of the “authorities” up in Wisconsin are still under Dem influence.
I know at least a couple of threatening emails were traced...as I recall one was traced back to a teacher from Racine.
Not being made up from nothing, you know.
The “union organizers” in Wisconsin have been doing just this sort of thing for years, and it is not confined only to the holders of state elective offices. It is also practiced against MANY local school boards, against county elected officials, and against the management teams of manufacturing and service companies.
Some places, the threats are simply laughed out the door, and nothing much happens. But then, these were not in the union strongholds of Madison and Milwaukee, and some of the other major “Rust Belt” manufacturing places roughly south and east of a line running from Green Bay to about Janesville. That area has always been a stronghold of “progressives”, first as the supporters of the La Follette dynasty (emphasis on “nasty”), then as the Progressive party was absorbed into the Democrats, the Pat Lucey-Gaylord Nelson branch of the party, and with a dynasty of their own. They even had their own major journal, the Madison-based Capital Times, a blatantly pro-Socialist periodical that was always to the left of even the Milwaukee Journal (now Journal-Sentinel). The other relatively large paper in the area, the Wisconsin State Journal, was once representative of the Republican (not conservative) point of view, but they have become a timid “me-too” echo of what the others blast across their headlines.
So you will never hear anything of the antics of the massive left-wing conspiracy in the local news, and if it isn’t local, it sure won’t make the national. The death threats are probably more nearly close to being carried out than not, as several legislators have chosen to resign, rather than to find out what happens to their homes, or businesses, or families. Others, well, conform. And it matters not if the legislator is Democrat or Republican, the same implicit threat is there, like a pistol pointed at your lower extremities beneath the table.
he’s one week old.
Ok, so it was reported by the media. Was it strictly local, was that the reason this is the first I am hearing of it?
Color me surprised.
Hello, n00b. Why don’t you look around Free Republic for a while, you know, get to know the lay of the land..... before challenging the word of a State Senator....
you know, there are things worse than death. Patrick Henry “Give me liberty or give me death”
I don’t doubt for a second the union thugs are fully capable of this sort of behavior. I’m wondering why these officials did not take it on themselves to call a press conference and pass out copies of the threats to the reporters and by doing so force the issue. It could have been sent to DRUDGE by the elected officials and I believe he would have headlined it because it is a big story.
You recall what happened when Time Mag decided to sit on the Lewinsky story and DRUDGE then ran it and caused it to go worldwide almost instantaneously.
I would really like to see health savings accounts pushed. I would rather have my company put the money they pay to an insurance company on my behalf into an account; I think they claim they pay $8-10k a year. If I would have had that from the first year, I would be in the $100k region. Then I pay for catastrophic health insurance.
It has come down to this. Not surprising.
Behave like the animals in a third world.
They’ve been taught well.
What a legacy for the fraud pre-sent.
D.I.V.I.D.E.C.O.N.Q.U.E.R.A.N.D.D.E.S.T.R.O.Y.
I’d return the favor. Go to the union bosses and let them know that if any legislator is harmed then they will suffer the consequences, that they had better get control of and keep control of their members and everyone else, because no matter who pulls the trigger they will be held accountable and the favor returned. Fight fire with fire.
If you had been reading FR at the time you would have heard about it. I remember hearing about it at the time.
“Email can be traced in some cases...”
It wasn’t reported becaue the emails were probably traced back to:
1.) The White House
2.) DNC headquarters
or
3.) Public union HQ
According to the left stream media there can be no crimes committed by any of these.
The reason you have not heard about this, prior to today, is that the media collusively downplays news that might harm the left, and stridently trumpets any news that might harm the right. See my tagline for a more in-depth analysis.
