An 8-year old girl died in an early evening crash Monday in Ralston. Her two sisters and mother were injured.
Omaha Police say Julia Brown of Papillion was killed when the van she was riding in was struck from behind by a pickup at 72nd and Main Street at 5:40pm.
Emily Brown, 10, and Madeline Brown, 13, and their mother Susan M. Brown, 44, were injured in the crash. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
The Honda minivan was stopped at a traffic light when, according to witnesses, a pickup that had been driving erratically and at a high rate of speed hit them from behind and pushed the vehicle through the intersection.
It had struck another van moments before, according to Omaha Police.
The Omaha driver of the Ford pickup, Rodney D. Watkins, was taken to Creighton University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Prayers lifted....
I can’t imagine the pain in that family. Please, dear Lord, help them and give them comfort. I have tears right now, but will have them in my prayers tonight and for a time to come.
I join in earnest prayer for the family and loved ones as they deal with Julia’s homegoing - God’s blessing, peace and guidance.
Prayers lifted for the passing of her young soul, and for the healing and comfort of her family and friends. And for the driver who hit them.
May God hold them close.
