The stunning expansion of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington, D.C., area is profiled in a long, interesting and meticulously accurate CNN story that suggests "the nation's capital has become a Mormon stronghold, with Latter-day Saints playing a big and growing role in the Washington establishment."

I agree with you. I’ve always felt Mormons as a whole had good moral character and were family oriented.
I alos think people who are concerned about Romney ‘preaching or pushing’ his religion need to look at if he has done so while in office. The answer is no - he has not. So, that’s one less thing everyone needs to be concerned with.
If you were auditioning for godhood -- like Temple Mormons are -- you'd be on your best outward behavior, too!

Except that since Mormons believe they are married forever -- and can attach themselves to more than one spouse forever -- that would make them eternal polygamists upon death (if what they believe is so). How does eternal polygamy and "family oriented" square with you? If you are married, are you "OK" with your hubby living forever with one or two or more other "wives?"
For example, three current Lds "apostles" (Dallin Oaks, L. Tom Perry, and Russell M. Nelson) have all been sealed "for eternity" in the Mormon temple to two "wives" apiece...(they were widowers who remarried)...That means, they anticipate sleeping with both wives (literally on and off) in their "new life" beyond death...

You honestly are trying to compare the power of a Bay State Gov with THE leader of the Free World?
Besides, you don't know Mormonism very well, do you? The issue isn't Romney at all re: what he might or might not initiate on his own from the White House. The issue is that he's the potential puppet and whatever "prophet" is in SLC over the next 4-8 years is the potential puppeteer.
No puppet never has to assume the initiative. To comprehend this further, review the Lds leaders' quotes I'll include in a chart in the next post.

What if an Lds "prophet" -- seeing the sheer PR value of inserting the Book of Mormon -- tells Romney to use the BoM?
Are you suggesting that Romney would disobey his own "prophet?"
What you don't understand is when it comes to THE supposed "leader" of the free world...If that man's a Mormon...guess what? He still is beholden to his "prophet" who wields authority over him!

I don’t worry about the lds people, but I worry about the nutcases who think they speak for God.
Where was the CNN insightful coverage of the increase in Islamic adherents in Washington, D. C., and how many of them were in positions of power under this president?
Where were in in-depth reports on how Islam is in a death-throws battle with Christianity, and that Obama was a ‘Christian’ who has never recanted his Islamic beliefs?
I’m not a big Mormon fan, but this is an out and out hatchet job on Romney by way of his religion, and this from a news organization that couldn’t have cared less if Obama was the son of Satan in 2008, and doesn’t care if he is now.

Better than Islamists who bow to Saudi Arabia 5 times a day, every day and never speak out against the human rights violations there or the death penalty for any lowly non-muslim who’d dare enter their segregated cities.
They will read “no one comes unto the Father except through me” in the Bible they say they follow, and in turn look down on a Christian who says that those outside the faith are condemned because its “mean” and "hateful"...
A prime example of this is the supposedly Conservative Christians here trying to condemn those who are confronting the very heretical Mormon cult that insult the very name of our savior instead of standing for Christ or at the very least standing aside if they do not have the stomach for it.

That’s ridiculous. As a Christian, the New Testiment says to spread the gospel, to pray without ceasing, I can name many others if you’d like. Does that mean I share the gospel to everyone I encounter, No. Does that mean I do nothing, but pray...no. You are taking things to the extreme.
JFK was President for nearly 3 years...any influence is out there in the open for the record.
Neither did St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher ... but there were plenty of proto-Protestants who couldn't wait to take the Oath of Supremacy ...
