Zimmerman murder case looks like long shot

Unless Angela Corey has something she's not telling us, her second-degree-murder case against George Zimmerman is looking more and more like a long shot.

The special prosecutor assigned to investigate the death of Trayvon Martin released hundreds of pages of evidence last week.

But any expectation of a bombshell to explain her reason for filing a murder charge — which comes with a much higher burden of proof than a manslaughter charge — was short-lived.

The documents failed to answer the case's biggest questions: Who started the fight between Zimmerman and Trayvon? And whose voice was heard screaming for help on a 911 call?

None of the witnesses saw the entire confrontation between the two, or who threw the first punch.

The evidence does, however, support Zimmerman's claim that he was assaulted by Trayvon — whether Zimmerman started it or not.

Photos of Zimmerman's bloodied head and swollen nose show he was injured.

On the other hand, Trayvon's autopsy report showed no sign of bruising or other injuries that would indicate he was punched by the Neighborhood Watch leader.

That only further serves to bolster Zimmerman's claim that Trayvon went after him and that he shot Trayvon in self-defense.

It can't be good for Corey when her discovery documents appear to strengthen the defendant's case more than her own.

The best piece of evidence for the prosecutor is something we already knew but was explicitly stated in a Sanford police report: Trayvon's death was "ultimately avoidable" if Zimmerman had stayed in his vehicle and waited for law enforcement to arrive....

Well, I’m talking about Saint Trayvon in particular given his own particular circumstances.

Obviously thugs on the street in general don’t need to be high to attack someone.

Please may I add a few:

10: Trayvon’s mom did not see a suspension from school as an excuse to send her kid on a vacation.

11: His dad understood that his kid was there under less than favorable circumstances and used the evening to make his son a better man instead of going to dinner with a woman who was not your son’s mother.

12:Someone, anyone had taken interest in this kid and gotten him off of the path he took. Wow just wow. Mom has a flipping posse but no son. How is that working for you?

GZs 911 call says "he looks like......he's on drugs or something". If that portion of the tape gets admitted, it'll open the door for all kinds of theories.

Have we considered the possibility that an open trial was the only way to get the truth out past the media hype and filtering? I think it’s turning out to be the best possible outcome for Zimmerman; if thins continue as they’ve been going, he’ll be publicly vindicated in a way he never would have been had it been left to the left-wing propagandists in the press.

When I was around heavy pot users many years ago, it was a world of quite a bit of violence, gun play, knife play, drug deals, prostitution, and even murder, quite a bit of death and all types of crime, just like today.

I think some people here are middle class straights, hang around with middle class straights, and think that the entire pot world is like that.

She certainly isn’t doing Zimmerman any convoluted favors. The simple fact that he is arrested and charged paves the way for a civil case which is what Trayvon’s family (or should I say lawyers) really wanted. That was made rather plain after the prosecutor’s announcement.

While the Zimmerman/Martin ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating, rape and murder of the elderly white couple by a gang of feral blacks in Oklahoma just a few weeks ago?

The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten and his jaw broken. He was shot in the face numerous times with a BB gun and sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The 85 year old partially blind wife was RAPED and then BEATEN TO DEATH.

Can you just imagine the pain, the humiliation, the horror that dear old lady experienced being gang raped by that pack of feral animals?

And can you imagine the pain, the horror of that dear old husband having to witness this?

Mr. Strait died from his injuries last week.

There’s a lot more involved here than a home invasion and robbery.

Why does it take a foreign press to enlighten America as to this henious crime?

Yes, I think you are right on this. I grew up with a brother who regularly smoked pot and acted like a crackhead when high. He was NOT mellow and he was NOT nice when smoking and he smoked it all the time. It was one reason I left home young.

My parents did attempt to control him to no avail. Nothing worked to stop him. While in high school he was arrested over 20 times, and averaged 5-10 arrests a year after that for the first 10 years after high school. It wasn’t until I got out of college, that I found people who could smoke weed and just get mellow.

My brother did achieve one good thing. His behavior forever made me NOT want to do any kind of drugs and I never did.

The mellow pot thing is very common, especially among the middle class types, but pot is a real drug, and it did not come from the middle class, it came from where it still is common, and is still the dominate drug, the violent black and Hispanic underclass.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I am a middle class “strait”. I never even saw pot until my mid 20s. None of the “straits” I was around EVER smoked pot.

When I did begin to see people use pot, they were lethargic and barely sentient and usually went to sleep after a brief laughing fit. I have never understood the attraction to pot. It doesn’t make any sense to me.
