Unless Angela Corey has something she's not telling us, her second-degree-murder case against George Zimmerman is looking more and more like a long shot.
The special prosecutor assigned to investigate the death of Trayvon Martin released hundreds of pages of evidence last week.
But any expectation of a bombshell to explain her reason for filing a murder charge which comes with a much higher burden of proof than a manslaughter charge was short-lived.
The documents failed to answer the case's biggest questions: Who started the fight between Zimmerman and Trayvon? And whose voice was heard screaming for help on a 911 call?
None of the witnesses saw the entire confrontation between the two, or who threw the first punch.
The evidence does, however, support Zimmerman's claim that he was assaulted by Trayvon whether Zimmerman started it or not.
Photos of Zimmerman's bloodied head and swollen nose show he was injured.
On the other hand, Trayvon's autopsy report showed no sign of bruising or other injuries that would indicate he was punched by the Neighborhood Watch leader.
That only further serves to bolster Zimmerman's claim that Trayvon went after him and that he shot Trayvon in self-defense.
It can't be good for Corey when her discovery documents appear to strengthen the defendant's case more than her own.
The best piece of evidence for the prosecutor is something we already knew but was explicitly stated in a Sanford police report: Trayvon's death was "ultimately avoidable" if Zimmerman had stayed in his vehicle and waited for law enforcement to arrive....

It looks like she filed charges to placate the mob.
Her career should be over.
“Long shot” is a weird way to say “miscarriage of justice”.
All of a sudden, ABC, MSNBC, HLN, etc., are running segments on evidence released by the prosecution and talking about how weak the case looks against Zimmerman. I think they are trying to gently and in a prolonged way trying to let down the Z-is-a-child-murderer crowd. They’ve got to deflate the the situation.
#$&^^%$# them for hyping the situation in the first place.
Well, Angie, now that you’ve ruined GZ’s life, how do you propose to give him back his good name and family’s safety?
It can't be good for Corey when her discovery documents appear to

This looks like another ambitious prosecutor who thought she saw a show trial but is only making a fool of herself.
What I don’t know is how much that is her fault, and how much the governor is to blame. I think it was his decision that put her in charge of the case. A politically stupid move, if you ask me. Better to have stayed out of it.

The “best piece of evidence”? I hate to tell this stupid “reporter”, but that’s not evidence—that’s someones speculation/opinion. This whole “case” is pure smoke!
“Which office do I go to get my reputation back?” ~Ray Donovan, former Reagan administration Secretary of Labor
Naw, if TRAYVON had stayed in his home and not gone out ‘shopping’ (what we call it in LA), he’d have a real life.
Look at this idiot for example: Years and years of school, tons of money, years and years of working for next to nothing. And when his time comes, he gambles everything on a lying two-bit-whore and a bunch of liberal twats. Good going idiot, McDonalds is calling. I assume doing a couple hours of basic research is a no no in idiot land. Two hours of time traded for a career in McDonalds for minimum wage. Yeah, go ahead and smirk asshole. Let's see how much you are smirkijng in the next few years when the only date you can get is with the very slut you arse kissed,
Who is that?
If the case is dismissed over Stand Your Ground, then the trial lawyers get nothing.
The best "piece of evidence"?? That's not "evidence." It's just a mindless argument no different than saying if Trayvon had not gotten out of bed that morning the altercation would have been avoided.
Police, who recommended Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter, also affirmed, "There is no indication that Trayvon Martin was involved in any criminal activity at the time of the encounter."
Trayvon had THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) in his blood at the time of the encounter. So yes, there is indication that Trayvon was high on dope, and possession and use of dope is a criminal activity in Florida.

That's what she was appointed to do. When was a special prosecutor ever appointed that didn't bring in an indictment? The Gov and AG knew a grand jury probably would have refused to indict, and they had to placate Holder's lynch mob.
Her career should be over.
I wouldn't count on it. But the voters can get rid of the AG.
Mike Nifong, Doc.
C’mon, even one of your brains knew that, eh? LOL
That statement, however, is not evidence, and calling it that doesn't make it so. The prosecution is desperately hoping to get that statement into the trial as the only way of attempting to get a conviction.
Why was a case, already a month old, and not going anywhere because it looked like an extremely strong self-defense claim would win easily, suddenly be brought back to national and international attention and hype? And why did the 0bama regime jump in with both feet in such a minor local matter?
I think the "crisis czar" saw the case as the best available event to build into a Rodney King-type situation, which can be dangled over the country for months. Depending on how the wind blows, 0bama and Holder can either bring justice to "their people", or defuse the situation, showing that, for once, their brand of justice is really blind. But meanwhile, they can keep the pot boiling at whatever temperature suits their purpose.
Corey is a jerk and a LIAR just like her criminal bosses, holder and hussein.
As I see in there are only two clear possibilities on why the prosecutor did what she did:
A) She is a blithering moron barely capable of figuring out how to feed herself.
B) She is trying to protect Zimmerman by trying him with a charge he is clearly innocent of and thus guaranteeing him protection via double jeopardy from lesser charges.
Of course if she is doing B, that’s legal malpractice. However it is unlikely to be provable, and she gets away with just looking like A. Not really sure how there is any winning angle for her.
Though even when Zimmerman is declared innocent, he will still face trumped up civil right charges from the Black Panther, er I mean Holder DoJ.
