News Flash, ABC News runs new story: At 7:11 that night, Zimmerman, a member of the area's neighborhood watch, had called 911 to report a suspicious teenager. Minutes later, the police dispatcher told Zimmerman to stop follwing Martin. Moments later, Zimmerman got out of his car. That's when the two met and Martin was killed... police say could have been avoided if he did not leave his car as directed by the 911 dispatcher.

Thanks, appreciate that. I’ll try and find that report, haven’t seen it yet.

Regardless, it was hardly a giant difference in weight, and I’d have to guess that TM was the more fit of the two, given his high school athletics.

If you shoot someone, most times you don’t want them getting up to take the gun from you. If Zimmerman wanted to, he could have put the gun to Martin’s head.

He could have shot Martin before he broke his nose and smashed his head multiple times instead of calling for someone to help him. Martin could have stopped when he heard the neighbor call out to George that was calling 911. Any witness, upon hearing someone beg for help, could have gone down there and yelled at Trayvon to stop it and pulled him off. A lot could have happened that did not happen.

Shooting him in the leg? How stupid! George would have ended up shooting himself as Martin's legs were straddling him. The media is so dang stupid, they are dangerous.

...he did not fall to the ground weeping and begging forgiveness from Al Sharpton.

Al Sharpton would have kicked the “whitey” in the head.

“The reason cops shoot to kill assailants who refuse to stand down is because wounded assailants can still pose a deadly threat. “

Liberal nonsence re written.

Firing a weapon is the application of deadly force. If the intent is not to kill the target you shouldn’t be firing in the first place. Besides most couldn’t “shoot to wound” in the first place because most, almost 100%, do not have the necessary marksmanship skills even without the added stress of a confrontation. If you have to fire... always, always.... shoot to kill...

Huh? How did I not say what you wrote below?

“The reason cops shoot to kill assailants who refuse to stand down is because wounded assailants can still pose a deadly threat.”

Again, there is no such thing as shoot to wound.......Your sentence implies that the police CHOOSE not to shoot to wound.......

If he intended for Trevon to die, why did he let him use his head for a pinata first?

If he indeded for Martin to die, why would Zimmerman even call the cops... so they could come find him with the body? Makes no sense at all.

Geez, strain at an imagined gnat of implication and swallow a camel of false distinctions.

If someone chooses to shoot to kill, then he is choosing not to shoot to wound, just as if I choose to drink the entire cup of coffee, I am choosing not to drink only half of it or if someone chooses to get totally bombed, he is choosing not to get just a little tipsy.

Now, earlier, you seemed to say that the primary reason police shoot to kill is because most lack the skill to "shoot to wound." Let's look at that sentence to make sure I'm remembering accurately:
Besides most couldn’t “shoot to wound” in the first place because most, almost 100%, do not have the necessary marksmanship skills even without the added stress of a confrontation. [emphasis added]
But I didn't say, "the reason cops choose not to shoot to wound assailants is because..." I deliberately said the reason they "shoot to kill" is because an assailant who is only wounded can still pose a deadly threat. My sentence actually implies that the reason police CHOOSE to do this is for purposes of safety, not merely because they lack the skill to do otherwise.

The elimination or reduction of risk (and, by that, the enhancement of safety) is the most important consideration in how they choose their target. Aiming, as much as is possible under the circumstances, at the center of mass is the most likely way to achieve that for two reasons: 1. it increases the likelihood of hitting something (thereby reducing the risk) and, by that, 2. it increases the likelihood of killing (thereby eliminating the risk).

Yes, he called the cops to begin with. He talked to them while following Martin. While he was getting beaten up, he called for help, according to a witness who went back inside to call 911. After the shooting Zimmerman told someone who came out to see what was going on to call the cops. Within about 3 minutes of the shooting, he told the person who had taken the photo of his bleeding head to call his wife and tell her he shot someone.

Making sense is not necessary for advancing the false narrative amongst those who have difficulty with anything that makes sense.
