Just about every objective indicator foreshadows a huge re-election defeat for President Obama. With every day that passes, Mr. Obama looks more like a loser.
Thats because there is doom and gloom everywhere you look. When government mathematical fudging is stripped away, unemployment is stuck over 10 percent. Economic growth is practically nonexistent and promises to slide downhill even more in the coming months with Europe and its banks rapidly collapsing. Due to Mr. Obamas out-of-control deficit spending, the national debt is at a heart-stopping $15.7 trillion, which erases a whole year of economic output by our entire country. With the Supreme Court poised to strike down Obamacare, his only signature legislative achievement, the president will have nothing to show for four years in office other than record misery.
Polls give a glimpse of the shellacking to come in November. Recent surveys have pegged Republican candidate Mitts Romney's lead over Mr. Obama as high as 7 percent, with the elephants advantage among crucial independents as high as 10 points. Perhaps most ominous of all for the incumbent is Mr. Romneys new lead among women. This support is not as shocking as it first sounds. The tired narrative about women voting in mass for Democrats who support abortion is only partially true and unfairly lumps all women together. In fact, the GOP traditionally does well with married women and those who go to church regularly, which is a big chunk of that demographic group. When the voting bloc is diced up by sex, Democrats basically only win minorities and those clinging to issues such as abortion and hopes for federally subsidized birth control. Aside from liberal extremists, most women vote on the economy and bread-and-butter issues, which is why Mr. Romney now leads among all women by 2 points.

Either voters would rally behind the Commander in Chief or we would have to suspend the election for national security reasons.
If hussein really does feel he is going to lose, watch out for “Scorched Earth”. He won’t go quietly into the night.
The guy has saturated the airwaves with his propaganda. When are the Republicans going to get around to doing their own? Are they waiting till after the convention? They needn't bother waiting since Romney will be the nominee. I have news for them. The longer they wait, the harder it will be for Romney to catch up.
This electorate selected this ass clown once before. Don’t be shocked if it happens again.
Yep, and the freebie crowd has grown since 2008.
The states hold the election which is is then held by the Electoral College. POTUS has no involvement in this area. He can suspend the Constitution and declare martial law.
With his cracks about “bitter clingers” and “the price of energy will necessarily skyrocket”, he had no hope of being elected the first time.
I see this a lot, but I don't know where in the Constitution the president gets this power.

FR’s dog Dan’s opinion:
“You can almost hear the GOP (deep breathing sound). We’re getting within maybe smelling distance.”
“We don’t know what to do. We don’t know whether to wind a watch or bark at the moon.”
Next up, that pistol-packin’ frog with side-pockets:
“Let’s fact it, all the amphibians and reptiles know that a Charles spaniel puppy could beat Obama.
“OK, so all us frogs don’t understand why the GOPee Republicans are hounding the conservatives on this site for their support of `Obamney, The Exorcist 2’.”
“To make sure there’s enough blame to go around in four years? Why would you let any liberal lick his lips thinking that you’re ready to fall on your back and flap your legs open & shut for him like fireplace bellows?”
“Otherwise it’s a ribeting exercise in bandstand mass psychology.”
People vote with their pocketbooks and wallets. Obama is ONE AND DONE.
“I wouldn’t discount Os chances. He has more than enough true believers left out there. And if not, he can find some voters at the local cemetery.”
He is also giving the leftwing base most of what they want. The GOP is giving its base a poke in the eye, to state it mildly.
Agree. There has to be a plan B if it looks like he’s going to lose an election. No way in hell this guy is just going to step down.
Exactly. The American electorate is wowed by shiny bling, not sound policies. Never, ever discount voters` penchant for going stupid at a critical time.
One term wonder due to horrific economy. I’ve been saying this for over 3 years now. Obama can’t win on his economic record. He can’t.
For journalists words are deeds. People who live in the real world know that everything is always easier said than done.
There is still the possibility of wagging the dogs of October surprise!
“POTUS has no involvement in this area. He can suspend the Constitution and declare martial law.”
Yes, after Miami, Los Vegas and Dallas are destroyed by Iranian or terrorist nuclear bombs, the voters will rally to support the president, not wanting to risk a change of commanders during existential war.
Or the president will be forced to declare marshal law in the midst of the crisis. Done deal. Another four or more years for the Bamsternater.
I am not sure the Media hasn’t turned on Obama.
There have been some clues lately that they aren’t exactly happy with him.
When I start seeing investigations into his past I will know the jig is up.
