Often when I speak about the Second Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms, and what actions we need to take in order to preserve our rights, I am rebuked with the apathetic response, From my cold dead hands.
While this is very poetic expression of an admirable sentiment, it is unlikely to ever happen, and unlikely to be effective. But there are things we can do today that are far less costly, far less poetic, and drastically more effective.

Having been encouraged by neighbor & friend to obtain our CT Pistol Permits together, happy to report that I have directly influenced several other friends and neighbors to do the same. There are a LOT more gun enthusiasts in this blue state than you'd think.

good ideas in the article
I also recommend encouraging all to get their states equivalent to Concealed Carry Permit. These are real numbers that speak to politicians...Wisconsin politicians for sure took notice as 100,000+ registered in under 6 months...these are almost all guaranteed to be voters...if someone is willing to go to the trouble to get a CC then they probably are registered to vote and got to the polls.

Glad to hear it. Connecticut is historically gun country, be tragic if it were otherwise now.

I will NEVER beg government permission to exercise a fundamental, God-given RIGHT. Why would you suggest such a thing?

Hey, I actually did that. Good on me. Now I can sink back into a stupor.

Yep, there is a constant stream of people taking the NRA safety courses getting their CCP here in CT. My friends who got theirs are also now encouraging their wives to do the same.

Why would I suggest following the laws of this land? Hmmm...that is a puzzling question...NOT! If I don’t like the laws I have two choices, work to change them or find a place to live with different laws.

Why would you suggest such a thing? Because a lot of people with bigger guns than you are challenging that right.
So you can either shoot it out with them, or exercise it in such a way as your countrymen have approved by consent.

I’ve had my CT permit for over twenty-five years. I resent needing a permit to exercise an inherent right but that’s what happens in a fascist state.

Excellent, and agreed - until a strict interpretation of the Constitution is fully restored, ya do what ya gotta do.
