LYNCHBURG, Va. Evangelical leaders praised Mitt Romneys speech today at Liberty University, saying that the Mormon candidate was right to acknowledge his religious differences with other Christian voters.
It was an acknowledgment that the issues that social conservatives and evangelicals care about are important issues to Gov. Romney and as he sees them [as] part of a successful economic platform for the country, said Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.
Perkins added that there wasnt anything the presumptive GOP presidential nominee who many evangelical voters regarded with skepticism during the primary while backing Rick Santorum should have done differently. And he pointed to the huge opportunity created for Romney by President Barack Obamas endorsement of same-sex marriage this week (Romney opposes gay marriage).
I think he touched on the key issues that are important to social conservatives. He mentioned Rick Santorum and Ricks emphasis and the need to have the family and the ties to economic success. (See also: 10 essential facts about Liberty U.)
Regarding Romneys acknowledgement that Mormonism differs from other Christian faiths in certain ways, Perkins said the candidate was correct to tackle the issue.
That was what he needed to do, was to acknowledge that there are theological differences between him and evangelicals, Perkins said.

MORMONism is neither a 'denomination' nor 'christian'.
Nope; but they DO present a danger to the eternal souls of men.
Worshipping a FALSE christ will earn a person a FALSE salvation.
MORMONs can shout and wail all day long that they believe in 'christ of the bible', but the albatross of LDS writings and teachings illustrates quite a DIFFERENT 'christ', and there is NO amount of present day proselytizing going to make those facts disappear.

That is a powerful testimony, thanks for sharing it. I would suggest that while you view your journey as including a period of ‘slipping away’, God never took His Hands off of you, you are His sovereign property. I fail Him all the time, but He never fails me. None of us by our own efforts are able to meet His standards. But I (and I’m sure you do too) try to live by a very simple rule, which is:
“Every day, do our best, and trust Jesus for the rest”.
Hope your Sunday is likewise, a fine one.

God “deputized” all Christians to point out false teaching and guide others away from doctrines that went against his word.
Sadly in modern Oprah Christianity this in not politically correct anymore. All paths are correct. Buddhism is Christianity and so is Islam by the standard you set.

Actually, your post 73 is the weakest point of your argument, almost to the point of being offensively obtuse. Neither Scientologists nor Hindus acknowledge Christ as their Savior, Mormons do. Surely you can come up with better examples than that!

How do authorities measure “distance” in beliefs? At what “distance” do they draw the line of acceptability? Where is the canonical list of Christian core beliefs and the list of distances that each sect of today lies from them? How would they rate, for example, “Assemblies of Yahweh”, or “Kimbanguism”?
Thank you MK. Unfortunately, I just got a FRmail from one hater. I responed to him that instead of wasting his time hating and being arrogant, he needed the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ and should spend his time seeking the Lord out than sending me hate mail on the back channel messages. I’ll pray for his soul as I do all lost. They tell me not to bother, but again, they have no control over whom I pray for. So, I always include them. Prayers up!
Again, I repeat. I know many good Mormon people. They are loving, kind, gentle, sweet, giving, helpful, etc. I served in the Army with one of the finest men I ever knew in the world who was a Mormon. He had me over to dinner with his family. His wife was the perfect host and wife. HOWEVER, their beliefs are wrong according to the Holy Bible. We know that it preaches ONLY through Jesus Christ will we see the Father. ONLY through Him. They deny Him. In fact, I have read where they say the Cross is a waste of time and a folly!! Wrong. Look at their temples. NO CROSSES on those temples. Look closely and you see an emblem that is almost satanic. ONLY by that Cross do we have a saving grace of the power of the atoning blood of the Savior. Denying Him gets you a first class ticket down. Not up. I don’t hate them. I pray for them that they truly see the Light. I have listened to many ex-Mormons tell their stories of how lost they discovered they were in that religion. Belief in Jesus Christ is not a religion. It is a personal walk with the one and only Redeeming Savior of the universe. The Creator God of the universe. Only by Him. Simple as that. Not by a book found by a man lost in the woods at age 14.
