PITTSBURGH Rick Santorum dropped his presidential bid nearly a month ago, so his meeting here Friday with presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney would have seemed like the perfect opportunity to offer Romney his endorsement.
But even before the 90-minute meeting took place, everyone knew that no such nod would be coming anytime soon. Santorum, like pretty much everyone else who has run in the Republican presidential contest, has embraced the party's standard-bearer with a stiff arm. Of course they will work to defeat President Obama, they say. Yet few have been willing to get behind their party's winner with anything approaching enthusiasm.
When he dropped out of the race last week, Newt Gingrich damned Romney with faint praise, saying that he was no Ronald Reagan and then reiterating in an interview that he thought Romney was a liar. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota got around to endorsing Romney on Thursday, a full four months after she dropped out. And some of the hottest stars in the party avoided weighing in until the race was a foregone conclusion notably Sen. Marco Rubio and former Gov. Jeb Bush, Floridians whose nods would have meant far more before the state held its crucial primary in January.

well there is your problem. Mitt hasn’t won jack s#%t yet. While it’s unlikely he won’t be the parties winner. It won’t be official till Tampa. A lot can happen between now and then.
Given that Santorum is a social issues guy, I’m guessing he didn’t like the answers Romney gave to his questions.
Looks like Obama is punishment to America for murdering their babies..
and the punishment seems to be NOT OVER...
America may actually deserve Obama..
“The People” may be as corrupt(generally) as he is..
Occams Razor suggests this is true..

Tepid ... sounds about right.
Ron Paul has to many enemies to win the Republican Nomination at an Open Convention in Tampa.
However, Ron Paul is one of the two keys, (Santorum being the other), to forcing an Open Convention in Tampa.
Ron Paul already has won 4 State Primaries, and needs to win just one more to qualify as a Nominee Candidate at the Tampa Convention.
This would greatly upset the GOP-E, but probably not Romney as he has always been clueless about how many voters really dislike him.
Although Ron Paul cannot win the Nomination in Tampa, he can along with our help create the proper environment for an OPEN CONVENTION in Tampa.
Then the Open Convention delegates can draft a REAL Republican.
Sort of a round-about way of bypassing the Romney/Obamalite/GOP-E sinking ship, but here is how I see it:
1.) Vote in large turnout numbers in the remaining Primaries, for Ron Paul as an ABR vote, (Anybody But Romney), especially if you vote in the May 29 Primary in Texas.
2.) Work and Lobby for an Open Convention.
3.) Draft a REAL Republican as the Republican Nominee.
An Open Convention will upset the Liberal Agenda Media, and their political consultants who already (in their minds) have Obama re-elected.
We need to draft a REAL Republican in 2012 and avoid the sorry Romney years if Romney beats Obama.
IMHO, Romney will loose by a hair to Obama which will require that Obama be immediately IMPEACHED in order to save our Republic.
Obama or Obamalite, the US Federal Government will not have its, and therefore our, financial house in order by 2016.
Thus, political resolution of the main problem: OVERSPENDING BY THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, may not be achievable in 2016.
Hence, it is IMPERATIVE that we have an OPEN Convention in Tampa so that a REAL Republican can be drafted, albeit kicking and screaming, to be the Republican Party Nominee for the Office of the President of the United States of America.
I have outlined above how voting for Ron Paul as a Primary wedge against Romney could lead to an Open Convention in Tampa.
Since Ron Paul cannot win the Nomination, he would serve as our last active best wedge hope of defeating Romney AND the GOP-E in an Open Convention.
Primary Candidate Ron Paul is the last active non-Romney Candidate left standing between the GOP-Es Romney, (= probable loss to Obama in November), and an Open Convention of a Republican that can soundly defeat Obama.
A win over Obama is not enough, Obama MUST lose in a LANDSLIDE!!!!!!
NONE of the Primary Candidates have shown that they have that potential.
It is time for an Open Convention to choose the best Presidential Candidate.
It is time for us Conservatives to turn out in massive numbers in the remaining primaries, especially in the big electoral delegate states such as Texas, and vote for ANYBODY BUT ROMNEY!
Ron Paul needs only to win one more State Primary to qualify as a Nominee Candidate, and therefore is our best chance for an Open Convention to select a GREAT Nominee, such as Senator Jim DeMint.
I think a Real Republican would be our best choice, but first we must work to have an Open Convention in Tampa.
What say all of you?
It is not going to happen.
Once again like with McCain I will have to hold my nose to vote for this SOCIALIST vs the MARXIST! We may not survive as a FREE country with back to back people who think the sweat of my brow belongs to those who will not work, prefer to stay drunk, drugged, or cranking out, more welfare babies generation after generation. And won't deport the dang ILLEGALS who will work for peanuts and live in roach and bed bug invested places.
While our Military and Seniors take the brunt of their gut and cuts, but not them who have made TAX SLAVES out of those of us who do work, over 50% of your pay goes for their upkeep.
GET A JOB, even if it is scrubbing toilets like I did back under the peanut farmer to support my 2 boys when I walked out on their abusive dad.
I think the political types can see that Romney will lose and that the party will then be returned to conservatives. At that point, none of these guys will want to be reminded of any effusive endorsements of Romney.
Tepid endorsements for a tepid candidate.
To those in TN get rid of the moderate Sen Bob Corker too. Fence straddler like Lamar Alexander.
It’s not that easy if u don’t have any credible candidates to run against them.
I live in east tennessee. I am surprised no credible candidates have emerged to take on Corker and Alexander.
We could use a couple of “Mourdocks” here in Tennessee.
If and when we get some credible candidates... GAME ON.
And your better idea is?
You lost me at “Ron Paul already has won 4 State Primaries.” He hasn’t won a single one.
I'd prefer a REAL Conservative. REAL Republicans suck. See John McCain.
That’s why the term “RINO” makes no sense, that is what Republicans are.
Wondered what was going on haven’t heard much about this in media. If the Romney group figurec they could use it there would have been some mdeia coverage ...My feelimg hasn’t changed ....IF YOUR STATE HAS A PRIMARY AND SNATORUM IS ON YOUR BALLOT VOTE FOR FOR SANTORUM AND HIS DELEGATES

Would like to see Sen Mark Norris run, he is a true conservative. Very effective right arm of LT Gov Ramsey, who should have been our Governor, not the moderate we now have.
