Bryan Mound (Strategic Petroleum Reserve)Pre-election Releases?
Around the Internet | May 5, 2012 | LQCincinnatus

Just got the scoop from my guy who works at Bryan Mound (Strategic Petroleum Reserve). As you may know, the largest reserve site in the U.S. is located a few miles from where I work in Freeport. It hold 200+ million barrels of oil. They got a visitor from Washington D.C. authorizing the release of 80-90 million barrels across all 4 sites in the U.S. It will be sold to Exxon Mobil for the purpose of flooding the market to bring down gas prices (temporarily). Just in time for the election. The president can do this without Congress. What an advantage he has over other candidates. That's democracy for you. America will be duped once again by Obama the Great in thinking he rescued them from $4 gas.

I understood that - it’s logical. Quibling about what the SPR drawdown needs would be (e.g., for dire military petroleum needs) is, in fact, pointless and outside the purpose of this ploy.

Whether it is one day, five days or a month is not the point, either. Sure, oil is available from domestic sources, but you’re seriously going to tell me an Obama administration won’t sequester that source for HIS purposes to keep HIS people happy? It is a stunt, period.

SPR - Strategic - STRATEGIC Petroleum Reserves - Think about that and how big this drawdown is and what it is for. There is nothing strategic about it.

Ask a simple question on FR and you get all kinds of very smart, thinking answers. You gotta love this place!

Are you trying to claim Obama would try (and only try) to shut down all the privately owned wells and at the same time release oil from the SPR?

I am probably misunderstanding what you are trying to suggest.

There is nothing strategic about it.

Agreed, and I do not think it will happen as described here.

“There is nothing strategic about it.”

Unless you are talking about Obama’s reelection strategy.

Yes, I am saying he will do whatever it takes to take care of his voters. His EPA is killing coal fired electricity generation, making sure that new nuclear generation will be a fantasy, oil from shale, oil from Canada, oil in ANWR, oil from the Gulf, etc. won’t be available. What trouble is it to create a spill domestically and have another ‘gulf emergency’? All he needs is the excuse the MSM will parrot and reinforce.

The fewer sources he has to clamp down on means his power is more effective with the ones he does have to take over, e.g., SPR. In other words, yes, he would do it.

This man will do anything to get re-elected.

I guess you could think that, but I think it gives the incompetent Muslim too much credit. His past three years shows him to be relentless in implementing his ideology, but the numerous failures have always been followed by his constant blaming of others. This isn’t strategic in my opinion - it is reactionary. The trouble with community organizers is that they only know how to tear down, not build.

Yes, I am saying he will do whatever it takes to take care of his voters.

He does not have a capability to do so and it would ensure his defeat in the election.

It will not and could not happen. You think enough troups would turn traitor to carry out such an order that creates chaos for their families?

AT 18.5 M+ bbl/day usage in the US, pulling 90 M bbl isn't, excuse me, shit.

Exactly!

Obama's already put in place that which will reduce gasoline prices this summer, and that is that his policies have the US economy in the tank, and it's having an affect on world demand. Crude dropped $6 Thurs. and Friday, and I see a major slide coming due to a demand-side problem.

These people can't have it both ways. When defending their energy-choking policies, they say we're in a world market, and more extraction just won't help, yet here we have them admitting that they believe more supply can affect the price!

“...it would ensure his defeat in the election.”

With Soros’ money and a fully-complicit media behind him, there is NOTHING the twit could possibly do that would “ensure his defeat in the election.”

He’s a shoo-in to win. All this electioneering by BO is geared to achieving reelection by a LANDSLIDE. Soros knows that the Republicans are likely to control both houses of Congress, so he wants his man to be able to claim that he alone represents the Will of the People.

The recent three year's history tells us that No One has stood up to his blatant violations of US Law thus far. There are numerous posts here about it, posted in excruciating detail. His media, his 96-97% of blacks, a major percentage of Hispanic voters, and the fully 1/2 of the other voters in this country scrounging off the rest of us confirm this. Of course he has the capacity, and it is happening; you just refuse to believe it. The fact that he isn't yet trying use the military is pointless. What do you think the DHS is going to do with 4.5 Million 9mm hollow point bullets they've recently contracted for?

I don't share your defeatism.

Far too many that voted for him before see that now as mistake.

While in no way am I calling for violent attack on the government, far more ammunition has been bought and sequestered by private citizens.

I am glad there are many patriots that do not share you defeatists view.

Your cites are cherry picked to suit your point of view which is okay. I just am submitting the myriad posts and complaints from FR for the past three years as proof of his disregard for the law. I can’t hyperlink them like you. If I did, it would just be www.freerepublic.com.

The fact that one of his minions got caught espousing Obama’s tyranny isn’t fullscale justification for denying this government is up to just plain no good. Look for this communist being hired somewhere else in Obama’s administration.

Finally, while it is likely true that far more than 4.5 million rounds of ammunition are in the hands of CITIZENS who do not have to explain their motives because of 2A, it is still nonetheless uncomforting OUR government has deemed it necessary to stock up on 9mm hollow point bullets in an organization supposedly dedicated to Homeland Defense from a worldwide terror organization from without.....I suppose now we’ll see 9mm machine guns at TSA trying to catch that underwear bomber, huh?

Your government is up to no good. Whether you believe this or not is your problem. Believing this is not defeatism; it is realism.

Your government is up to no good. Whether you believe this or not is your problem.

Of course I understand this. I cited examples where the wrong actions of the feds were counteracted by others.

What you stated was: The recent three year's history tells us that No One has stood up to his blatant violations of US Law thus far.

I gave examples where people don't share such a defeatists attitude of everyone just rolls over.
