Fox News political analyst Juan Williams misses working for NPR big time.
Because thats such an informed and influential audience, he told me last night at the swanky Industria Studios, a big loft and event space in the far West Village. And the thing is that audience really liked me and I would often times help raise money for NPR.
Williams, you may recall, was rather spectacularly (and controversially) fired from NPR in 2010 after telling Fox News host Bill OReilly that he sometimes gets nervous when he sees people in Muslim garb boarding a plane he is traveling on.
Williams was participating in one of those countless "future-of-media" panel discussions, this one sponsored by The Guardian and titled Commercial Pressures versus Journalistic Standards.

Well, if you were a “black” guy named “Juan” all your life in the racially/ethnically/SIG nuanced (by leftyists) country you might be internally conflicted too.
I put up with Juan to enjoy the lovely Mary Katherine.
I agree...pretty much a zero. Juan makes an effort but it amounts to nothing. No new insights.
He is. If you read his book "Enough!" it is clear he leads his life as a Conservative but endorses Liberal public policies.
Tired of being body slammed and Bammy slapped, by little Michell Malkin no doubt!
He misses his audience and co-workers agreeing and hanging on to his every word. He actually has to think now, and the new group makes him look like the fool he is.
No, I don’t see that as a problem. He wants to be a feel-good leftist, but it just never works quite like he thinks it should. The world is full of these guys.
Yabut, as someone pointed out above, he doesn't live his personal life that way.
Williams or Beckel come on Fox, off goes Fox.
A bit uncomfortable outside of the echo chamber, Juan?
Where you actually have to consider perspectives outside of group think? And respond (somewhat intelligently) to them?
Heh.
Welcome to OUR world.
His work was furthering the "progress" of people who fired him for expressing a thought, a simple human reaction to the events of the day following 9/11.
Perhaps he just misses a hypnotized and adoring audience?
This Freeper was interviewed by NPR last week and my comments will be aired on “All Things Considered” early next week. The liberal NPR audience will get to hear my Conservative viewpoint....well, as much as they will air...
Have given up on fox..get most of my news from London
I am sure Juan does miss NPR, after the ass whoopen he got from Michelle Malkin on Fox couple days ago.
It’s always nice for lefties like Juan to stay in a bubble where all the thoughts and voices are the same and reinforce built-in bias for left wing issues.
He’s clearly uncomfortable sometimes on Fox when he is confronted with irrefutable logic from the conservative side.
As NYT columnist Pauline Kael once said, “How did Nixon get elected? No one I know voted for him.”
BOR is not independent and he is nowhere near as smart as he thinks he is. He is the typical useful idiot for obama who just cannot keep his mouth shut grrrrrr
