Many naive Americans believe that Mormonism is merely another branch of protestant Christianity. Well thats not what the founders and leaders of Mormonism believed.
According to its founder, Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young, Smiths successor, Mormons are the only true people of God on the earth. All non-Mormons and their religions are wrong, an abomination, blind, damned, of the devil, whores, not Christians, groveling in darkness, heathens, ignorant, devoid of fact, pagan and hatched in Hell.
When Romney made a speech about his religion in 2008 he refused to distance himself from his faith and fully affirmed his Mormonism. Responding to critics, Romney said,
"They would prefer it if I would simply distance myself from my religion, say that it is more a tradition than my personal conviction, or disavow one or another of its precepts. That I will not do. I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers - I will be true to them and to my beliefs."
Romney, the father of homosexual marriage in America and abortion funding Romney Care in Massachusetts, flip-flops on virtually every issue, but he is adamant about his anti-Christian Mormonism. Romney needs the vote of Christians to win election, but he refuses to disavow one or another of its precepts.
Nor can anyone think Romney is merely a casual or cultural Mormon who just happened to be born Mormon. He is an active Bishop in the Mormon church hierarchy. He cannot pretend to be ignorant of the teaching of Joseph Smith and the other prophets of Mormonism.
Below is a list of quotes from Mormon leaders and official publications starting with Joseph Smith down to our day. The message is consistent and clear.

Dear Sister, I am saddened that you continue to insinuate that my rejection of Romney has anything to do with religion. As I have mentioned, it does not. If you are willing to give a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage radical liberal politician the benefit of the doubt, then surely you can do the same for a Christian brother with whom you’ve corresponded these many years.
I have also demonstrated to you that Obama is not the anti-Christ. He is a socialist, and there’s a good possibility that he is one of the communist variety. His teleprompter, his 57 states comment, and his total bungling of the economy tells me that he is incompetent.
I sense you fear this man far more than you should for any human....EVEN the AntiChrist.

I'd rather argue with atheists and Darwinists than my fellow Christians anyway.
So would I. Thank you for sharing your insights, dearest sister in Christ!

AG,
Betty appears to be under the impression that Mormons are Christians. Do you agree with that statement?

I know that my dearest sister in Christ, betty boop, already knows this but for the record since you asked. LDS theology is not Christian. It says that God the Father had a father who had a father and so on. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are separate entities by that theology. The LDS God the Father was once a man, conversely, LDS men can become gods.
For that reason, the Catholic Church does not recognize LDS baptisms though it does recognize Protestant baptisms in "the" name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, i.e. the Trinity.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: - Matt 28:19
As I understand it, until recently the LDS did not claim to be Christian as the word is meant by Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants and independent Christians, i.e. we worship God the Creator of all that there is.
...And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. - Acts 11:26 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. - John 1:1-3
God's Name is I AM and YHwH (He IS), El Shaddai (God Almighty), Alpha and Omega.
Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me, - Isaiah 46:9
And again,
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. - Rev 1:7-8

Thank you so very much for your insights and encouragements, dearest sister in Christ! Palin was the charisma McCain didn't have. Romney doesn't have charisma either (at least that I can tell) - Bachman could certainly help but Palin set a very high bar even for Bachman.

In the end, it looks like you are more worried about the spiritual condition of your own butt than the survival of the United States as a going concern, "under God." Thanks alot.
Of course I am.
That is the covenant that exists between all truly born-again Christians, the loyalty to Christ above all other relationships, above all other loyalities.
And it is exactly that fidelity to Christ that leads the born-again Christian to make the best choices for this country of ours, including, not voting for a lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal.
For to do so, IMHO, violates that very fidelity to Christ that keeps me, as a Christian, in his good favor.
Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

What God wants me to do. Then do it.
What do you want to 'see' from the REST of us anti-MORMONism folks?
After we've loved 'em, and raked their grass and praised their nice children, noted their empty jails and applauded their conservatism; just WHAT are we to DO about the HERESY they believe in?

Both are relentless doctrinalists. Duh!
MORMONism's 'doctrine' is demonic.
There is really NO other way to describe it.
Now; how we gonna LOVE the deceived ones out of it?

Think I'll go find an atheist, or a materialist, or a Darwinist to talk to. Why?
Can't you handle a MORMON?
I've not seen an atheist, or a materialist, or a Darwinist posting in this thread.
