Mormon Bishop Mitt Romney’s Anti-Christian Religion

Many naive Americans believe that Mormonism is merely another branch of protestant Christianity. Well that’s not what the founders and leaders of Mormonism believed.

According to its founder, Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young, Smith’s successor, Mormons are the only true people of God on the earth. All non-Mormons and their religions are “wrong, an abomination, blind, damned, of the devil, whores, not Christians, groveling in darkness, heathens, ignorant, devoid of fact, pagan and hatched in Hell.”

When Romney made a speech about his religion in 2008 he refused to distance himself from his faith and fully affirmed his Mormonism. Responding to critics, Romney said,

"They would prefer it if I would simply distance myself from my religion, say that it is more a tradition than my personal conviction, or disavow one or another of its precepts. That I will not do. I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers - I will be true to them and to my beliefs."

Romney, the father of homosexual marriage in America and abortion funding Romney Care in Massachusetts, flip-flops on virtually every issue, but he is adamant about his anti-Christian Mormonism. Romney needs the vote of Christians to win election, but he refuses to “disavow one or another of its precepts.”

Nor can anyone think Romney is merely a casual or cultural Mormon who just happened to be born Mormon. He is an active Bishop in the Mormon church hierarchy. He cannot pretend to be ignorant of the teaching of Joseph Smith and the other “prophets” of Mormonism.

Below is a list of quotes from Mormon leaders and official publications starting with Joseph Smith down to our day. The message is consistent and clear.

I NEVER said I was anti-Romney.

I am VERY MUCH anti-Romney. But that isn’t what the Mormon threads are about. We were fighting that demonic cult long before Romney.

But go ahead and take the cowards way out and retreat. That is why you are caving for Romney in the first place. Coward.

You may not care if Mormons are headed for Hell, but I do.

WHY???

I'm not exactly seeing any compassion from you, for them.

Compassion is telling them the truth. I don’t just do this on FR, I actually work in ministry to them.

Compassion doesn’t mean letting them go their merry way to Hell. The ‘tough love’ approach is what works to get through to them, as most ex-mormons who are Christians will tell you.

Why do I care? Because I used to BE Mormon. I once was lost but now am found was blind but now I see and the ones who got through to me were those who challenged me and even berated me a little.

Forgive me for saying so, dear P-Marlowe, but it is my belief that God does not judge and punish us NOW, in "this" world. Punishment for our sins according to our just desserts is imposed on us on Judgment Day, when Christ comes again, this next time brandishing a bloody sword — not before.

If you don't believe that God punishes countries and nations that turn their backs on him, then you must also not believe that he gave our founders this country and our liberty as a reward for our faithfulness and to be stewards of our nation as an instrument in God's plan.

Betty, God does reward us for our faithfulness and he punishes us for our faithlessness NOW, today, while we are on the earth. There are countless verses in the Bible where God calls upon his people to be faithful and when they are not he brings destruction down upon them.

Europe has long ago abandoned God for humanism. WWII was the classic example of what happens to countries that turn from God. America remained faithful to God up until just after WWII and when America began loosing it's faith in God and our institutions began to become more and more secular.

America has the blood of well over 50,000,000 babies on its account. God does not look kindly upon a nation that engages in child sacrifice and I view the abortion holocaust as nothing less than Human Sacrifice.

If you don't think that what is happening right now to our nation is NOT a judgment from God upon our nation, then you do not believe that God is just. He will punish us individually for our sins in eternity, but he judges the nations and when he pronounces judgment on a nation, then that nation is punished now. Nations shall not stand before God at the judgment seat at the end of days. Nations will be dealt with here and now.

Are we doing a presidential election here, or only a "let's reform those LDS bastiches" before they "taint" America here??? And while we're at it, let's destroy people (like me) who believe that matters of conscience are between a man and His Maker, not ever to be judged by me???

My job is to love my neighbor as myself. It is not to judge him, and therefore to commit him to eternal perdition — for doctrinal failures that perhaps exist only in my own mind.

As if you have any say at all in a matter like that, which is God's province, and His alone.

Do you folks even remember that God Himself tells us that we shall be judged, precisely by the criteria by which we (illegitimately) judge others?

Can we get a little "humility" here???

Anyhoot, I believe judging my neighbor is 'way above my pay grade, thank you very much. God ONLY judges us.

I think and believe down to the ground that it's far better for me to live in the love and peace of Christ Jesus, and to try to spread that around, as much as possible.

What is it with people who display an attitude like this toward their neighbors??? Truly, I just don't understand it....

If you are working out problems remaining from your prior affiliation with the Church of LDS, what does that have to do with what the Republic requires for its survival?

Just asking'....

God is just. Men aren't. As a rule.

I would ask you to consider that profound difference.

But if God has judged this nation, and will punish us by inflicting another four years of Obama on us (which would be the death-stroke of our nation under God), then there's nothing more for me to do, and I might just as well curl up and die and await my judgment on Judgment Day.

Elections would be pointless under that scenario.

So why bother? Everybody, just stay home on November 6th.

Your God-given liberty means nothing, after all....

Apples and Oranges. There is more going on here than just politics and I can muti-task. Not everything about Mormonism has to do with politics.

Christians are called to judge people, other believers as well as doctrines. We are not to judge hypocritically, it never says we are not to judge at all. Your lack of understanding of basic Christian doctrine is astounding.

The ‘doctrinal failures’ don’t ‘exist in my mind’ they are fact and insulting to God and against the Bible.

And you still didn’t answer my question. Do you believe/accept Mormons as Christians? And how much do you know about what they really believe?

Well, since "conservatives" apparently aren't interested in fighting for actual conservatism or actual conservative candidates, I probably will end up doing so. Why would I bother to vote? They're both equally bad, and why would I reward the GOP with votes for its downticket candidates, either? Why feed the system at all?

At any rate, please omit me from these multi-FReeper posts on this thread. Nothing is going to convince me to vote for Romney. End of story.

“Anyhoot, I believe judging my neighbor is ‘way above my pay grade, thank you very much. God ONLY judges us.”

If you really believe judging your neighbor is “way above your pay grade”, and that “God ONLY judges us”,
one might ask why you are posting judgmentally about those who view mormonism and a Christian’s response
to mormonism differently than you??

Shouldn’t you either be accepting that someone’s conscience is different than yours, or just move on
without judging, based on your own words??

My job is to love my neighbor as myself. It is not to judge him, and therefore to commit him to eternal perdition — for doctrinal failures that perhaps exist only in my own mind.

The most important part of that "Loving your Neighbor" required by God, is to warn your neighbor when they are caught in error or sin and are headed to hell.

By the very make-up, the very rules of Mormonism, the generic Mormon is headed to Hell, because they do not serve the Christ of the Gospel and their religion has taken some of the most important and basic tenants and truths of the Gospel and turned them into something that will not lead them to Repentence, to Faith, and ultimately the Salvation of their souls.

Too many professing Christians, not really understanding their own bible, or not really having experienced the very Salvation that the Gospel proclaims they must have to make heavan, use the distorted "I can't judge people" to hide from their responsibilities as Christians.

And yes, it is your responsibility to lead Mormons out of the wide-path to distruction they are in and back into the narrow path of Christ that leads to Salvation and Heavan. This includes communicating with them about the error of Mormonism, when you have the chance.

I am judging matters of fact, not the condition of another man's soul.

Given a set of facts, honest people can disagree.

But given the state of souls, only God judges such things.

God permits me to do the former, but not the latter.

Obviously, people's ideas on matters of conscience differ. But again, I am not the final judge of such considerations.

Can you discriminate any difference between the two? To make yourself the judge of what is God's alone to judge?

Which is why I think religious toleration is the best path. America has thrived on it for over 200 years.

Are you suggesting that you have a better way?

“Can you discriminate any difference between the two? To make yourself the judge of what is God’s alone to judge? “

I am willing to set aside your judgment of posters here and answer your question.

I judge mormonism as a false, cultic heresy that preaches a false gospel of works and makes God an idol.

I don’t judge the souls of men or women who are caught up on that false perversion, not knowing what they
actually believe.

If they come right out and say they reject the Gospel of Grace, then I conclude they need to hear the truth.

God instructs us to expose falsehood, and teach the truth, as Jesus Christ did, and as the Apostles did.

I aim to be as intolerant of a perversion of Christianity as Paul, Peter and Christ were.

Now, back to you judging the motivation and souls of others...

Can you look into their conscience, their soul, their hearts, and judge their motivations? I believe only God
is able to do so.

best,
ampu
