Oh! My Goodness. A Democrat lied? How shocking. Frankly I am shocked that anyone would be shocked.

In other news.
From the
BOSTON HERALD:
Elizabeth Warrens embattled campaign: Cherokee tie found 5 generations ago
EXCERPT:
Desperately scrambling to validate Democrat Elizabeth Warrens Native American heritage amid questions about whether she used her minority status to further her career, the Harvard Law professors campaign last night finally came up with what they claim is a Cherokee connection her great-great-great-grandmother.
She would be 1/32nd of Elizabeth Warrens total ancestry, noted genealogist Christopher Child said, referring to the candidates great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, who is listed on an Oklahoma marriage certificate as Cherokee. Smith is an ancestor on Warrens mothers side, Child said.

I’m new to FR but I’ve done a lot of reading, so let me see if I got this straight.
Brown is not a “true” red meat conservative so Warren should win, despite the political reality in MA and despite the horror she would inflict on the state and the country.
I think I got it right.

I wouldn’t spend a lot of time on this. I used to live on OK where she was born and raised and based upon the large segment of OK’s Population being Native American there is a good probability that she may have a someone in her ancestral background that is Native American. I think her heart however is more “Native Hippie”. Today the Occupy Wall Street Crowd plans demonstrations throughout the Nation and she publicy backed them. The Brown campaign should focus on the Anarchists that she supports.

Brown should say that his interest is in giving service, not taking umbrage.
The more she complains, the more she is exposed as self-interested, rather than public spirited.

This is going to be fun. My favorite so far is that they are calling her “Pinocchio-hontas”. Can’t wait for the photoshops.

The best tactic would be for Brown to keep his mouth shut. Don't give her any ammo.

Reported today on Boston TV that her great, great, great grandmother was an indian. That makes her 1/64?
That’s a pretty thin resume, but it might be enough for the Globe to cover for her. “Her native American bloodline has been established, despite insinuations by the Brown campaign to the contrary.”

Ummmm hmmmmm. OK -- blue-eyed blond Indians were very common in Massachusetts, and obviously suffered the pains of racial discrimination!
Scott Brown has brown eyes! Using the liberal's criteria, he has a good claim having a Latino or African-American heritage!

One ten thousandth? That won't get anyone on the tribal rolls around here (except as idiot of the week).
Better be looking at 25% or 50% to claim 'native status', and a verifiable and traceable ancestry to claim 'ancestry'.
That's the first problem.
The second is that to determine ancestry %, use 1/(2^n), where n is the number of generations involved. Denominators are: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, 16384, 32768, for the first 15 generations back.
No single ancestor gives a 1/10000th bloodline.
Now, I understand that family trees can get complicated, but I think if someone is going to claim something they can benefit from (in this case 'minority affiliation'), they should be able to back it up.

My Dad was born in Norman, OK. I’ve heard that almost everyone currently living that was born in Oklahoma is part Cherokee. Maybe I should start claiming minority status like Warren. Might improve my job search.

This lie will have zero impact in Assachusetts. The people willing to vote for her already accept lies as truth and only harden their opinion when the lies are pointed out to them. There is no more hope for Assachusetts than there is for Clownifornia.
