"GOP lawmaker: Eligibility too scary to take on
Fears investigation would be 'biggest constitutional crisis since Civil War'
...
When it came to investigating Obamas eligibility, however, Adams who is now running for the U.S. House said he feared Congress standing up to the chief executive would trigger a constitutional crisis unlike one weve seen since perhaps the Civil War.
Further, Adams questioned whether an investigation by Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio determining probable cause to suspect the White House presented forged documents as proof of Obamas eligibility lends credibility to the case.
In a video shot by Ballantyne, author of Oh Really, OReilly! and cameraman Gabe Zolna, Adams affirmed his oath of office to defend the Constitution, but worried that investigating Obamas potential violation of that Constitution would create tremendous fallout among the American people.
First off, I do think its entirely appropriate that every candidate for office be able to prove their eligibility, Adams said. But can you imagine the constitutional crisis that would ensue?
He continued, Because of how big that would be, I simply do not believe that an investigation by a volunteer posse of the sheriff gives enough credibility to this issue to really push this issue.
Instead, Adams insisted Congress shouldnt act until the question of Obamas eligibility had worked its way through the legal process. ..."

THEY chose the constitutional crisis they fear out of DERELICTION OF DUTY."
That's right. In fact, some questions (i.e. his place of birth) were questioned before he was even nominated...let alone elected.
Hannity said on his TV show last month that many people told him “his career would be over” if he pursued the vetting of Obama over things like William Ayers and Reverend Wright. I imagine this is the kind of pressure that comes down on all types of Republican politicians and media people, and very few have either the power or courage to move forward anyway. We know Allen West is being redistricted out of existence in FL because he’s gone off-script too many times.
bring it on ‘cause “we the people” have nothing to fear with a “scorch the earth”...actually let’s scorch the earth a be done with all the bums who fear it!

When all of the people (media, highest military, congress, the judiciary, intelligence services and on and on) who could do something about it but don't are included, the figure is much, much higher than "scores" involved, either actively or passively.
Face it. Nobody wants to be responsible for "pulling down" America's Historic First Black PresidentTM with all of the implications involved in such. The people we're up against know this, and use it to full advantage.
Thanks for the Ping, rxsid.
Therefore, whenever there is an issue too big and too scary (as deemed by the media and politicians), the truth shouldn't be pursued by anyone? We should all just roll over?
It looks like Romney will, unfortunately, be the GOP nominee. Many conservatives will not come out and vote for him...or will come out to vote but only vote on local/state issues and simply write someone else in.
Romney will loose in November.
Then what? Are "we" to accept Obama yet again as being eligible? Or will this can be kicked off the side of the road so that the "natural born Citizen" requirement is effectively removed from the Constitution by popular vote?
This is yet another example of how our Constitution gets eroded over time.
It continues to amaze me that many people believe AII,S1,C5 is not worth fighting for. If enough people in a position of power to do something were to come out together, individually they would be less likely a target.
a constitutional crisis unlike one weve seen since perhaps the Civil War.
.
Are we to conclude that the GOP is of the opinion that the destruction of the country is of lesser importance than a constitutional crisis?
Typical spineless GOP mindset.
This is an interesting suggestion. There just might be some political group that would sponsor Taitz. However. she hasn’t hid her Russian roots and it would only take a superficial birth check to disqualify her whereas the cause for a more critical look at Obama’s roots might be side railed. However. something like this might add some fuel to the fire about Obama’s eligibility.
What a nasty little neutered pantswetting sissie. We’re IN a constitutional crisis. WOULD BE?
Almost all Rs make me want to projectile vomit.
This is a threat and an attack on the Sheriff via “innocent” statements. The GOP-e is pushing to sell their crap via the liberals. They do not want to admit they are incompetent.
If they cannot do it, they should get out of the way and not cock block the position and obfuscate justice.
Even afraid to have his name in the headline? Coward need to withdraw from the race, because he doesnt intend to keep the oath he would be required to take.
Where in DFW do you live? I’m in NE Denton County in the Aubrey area up 377.
Who’s your rep?
One more Ayup.
” A perfect example of why the Republican Party is where it is today.”
Yep.
Nope, never said that.Re-read what I said and you'll see that. All I said was that Osama will leave office on either 1/20/2013 or 1/20/2017..*regardless* of what evidence might be presented.

Is that you Bill Ayers?????
It's a seductive line of reasoning to a drifting people.
Sounds good to me.If,by chance,Osama *isn't* constitutionally eligible to serve as President (distinctly possible IMO) it would be great for that fact to be understood by the general public even if the proof doesn't drive him from office. To me it would be "blue dress day" times 100,000
Can’t have a constitutional crisis. A socialist dictatorship is a much better option.
And that is it in a nutshell. This is why courts do backflips to avoid the issue. This is why conservative commentators and pundits want nothing to do with it.
Everybody thinks this:
is what will happen if Obama is revealed to be an unqualified fake.
I suspect it is going to happen if he isn't.
