A big increase in reports of Asian tiger shrimp along the U.S. Southeast coast and in the Gulf of Mexico has federal biologists worried the species is encroaching on native species' territory.
The shrimp are known to eat their smaller cousins, and sightings of the massive crustaceans have gone up tenfold in the last year, biologists say.

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

Gotta get a bigger barbie...

No problem. Sounds delicious.
I think the crude oil that nuritious the bacteria must be a favorite meal for the shrimpy shrimp. And then the cannibal shrimp come along and feast on the delicious cousins. Then we come along and eat gulf shrimp the size of small lobsters.
We should be dumping more oil in the gulf. Apparently it produces better food for us and the shrimp. (liberal logic applied here).

Unless you are allergic to them. One shrimp will send me to the hospital.
I was on a business trip in New Orleans, in the 90’s. While having breakfast in the hotel, I had grits with my eggs. Well, two fork fulls of the grits and I had the “tingle”. I went to the serving line and asked about the grits. Yep, cooked in shrimp broth. His reply, you are in New Orleans. I was the only one to lose weight on the week long trip.
How I wish that I could eat them. I stopped in Beaufort, SC, for the night while heading back to Florida from New Jersey with my boat. I went to a place that is supposed to have the best, Shrimp & Grits. Damn, did it look good.
