Weeping four-year-old girl accused of carrying a GUN (Title truncated)

Of all the many complaints about airport security and the TSA, one of the most common is that they make little distinction between plausible security threats and passengers unlikely to be doing anything wrong.

And a recent incident in Wichita, Kansas has reinforced that argument, as a four-year-old girl was apparently subjected to a humiliating ordeal after she hugged her grandmother while she was waiting in line.

The girl was accused of having a gun and declared a 'high security threat', while agents threatened to shut down the whole airport if she could not be calmed down.

When asked about the overbearing treatment the girl received, a TSA spokesman did not apologise and insisted that correct procedures had been followed.

Four-year-old Isabella's horrific experience in Wichita earlier this month was recounted on Facebook by her furious mother Michelle Brademeyer.

The family was in Kansas for a wedding, and was travelling home to Montana with Ms Brademeyer's mother.

Ms Brademeyer and her two children had passed through security when the grandmother was detained after triggering an alarm on the scanners.

Isabella then, according to her mother, 'excitedly ran over to give her a hug, as children often do. They made very brief contact, no longer than a few seconds.'

The young girl was immediately detained by security agents, who apparently shouted at her that she would have to be frisked too, and refused to let her mother explain what has happening.

Ms Brademeyer wrote: 'It was implied, several times, that my mother, in their brief two-second embrace, had passed a handgun to my daughter.'

Unless some TSA agent says she once saw a gun in a Teddy Burka.

Has anyone compiled a list of all these TSA abuse stories?

I know we are "at war" and 4 yo girls are the agents of choice, but this seems excessive.

The war on terror is over... but the war against American citizens is just gathering steam.

No, if you want to be left alone - do not violate a Security Check Point. When an alarm trips (as in the case with Grandma) - she needs to be checked out first. Injecting others is a known method for bypassing security and creating choas.

If you don’t want to go through security, fine ... drive, take a bus, train or bike.

I like to fly, I fly approximately 2-3 trips a month for the past several years - security is not that big of a deal. It takes all of 1 minute to x-ray my baggage, and 3 seconds to scan me. I OFTEN get a pat-down following the microwave scan because I wear a T-shirt under my shirt, and boxers under my pants. 15 seconds for a quick pat - and I’m on my way.

If this is too much for you to bear ... then drive. The TSA has a job to do, they are under constant criticism, and they operate in plain sight of everyone who passes through security, as well as everyone who has passed through.

Parents, control your children. If they make this mistake, it takes 30 seconds to correct; but if the parents create a scene, then it’s a huge mess. But, like it or not; security WILL be done for the safety of everyone.

Again, if you don’t like it - I suggest you drive your car.

I walked a trail yesterday here in suburban eastern Kansas and saw a woman (I assume it was a woman) in a full burka with a shawl over that. There were two men with her and she was pushing a little boy on a swing. I felt like walking over and taking photos with my iPhone. Then it occurred to me to flash the men (I’m 64 and a bit overweight). In other words, it evoked in me hostile thoughts. Then I wanted to go back and try to rescue her and the little boy. Sad. I did stare for a long time and with no apologies. I then saw one of the men walking towards the porto potty and made sure I got there first. When I came out he was not waiting. LOL. Hopefully he decided that if an infidel female had just used it he couldn’t.

The TSA has nothing to do with national security and everything to do with conditioning of the chattel.

We are mere moments away from a turn key police state.

Ever read the 4th Amendment, it says “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

These are unreasonable searches. How many terrorists have the TSA caught? I’ll tell you, NONE. NOT ONE. They’ve all been caught by other passengers after they’ve been through security. Oh, I’ll admit the TSA is great at finding 3-1/2 ounces of fluid instead of the allowed 3 ounces or fluid in a gallon bag instead of a quart bag. They are great at groping women and children and stealing your property but they are absolutely useless as far as making you safe.

Remember, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” - Benjamin Franklin. You obviously deserve neither.

Isn’t it odd that some airports can and have opted out of TSA involvement!
Isn’t it even more strange that one in particular, is in a city in turmoil by the Federalies is Sanford, Florida?
