I don’t think so. It would take one helluva bruhaha at the convention to cause them to leave mitt. Something big would have to happen to make everyone terrified of mitt being the nominee.

If something were to happen to Romney at this late date the GOP elites would just emerge from some smoke-filled room with a reasonable facsimile thereof.
Unless the Tea Party is going Third Party this is a done deal.
You have to change the voters’ minds. There are just enough delegates left that Newt potentially could take it if he sweeps it, however, that chance is almost zero. Get out there to the remaining states and educate voters. Simple as that.
By a large majority, ‘Conservatism’ is dead in Washington. A third party maybe our only way out.
Remember… it’s the fault of Bush and the GOP-e we have Obama.
If Mitt wins big tomorrow, then- nope. And look at the states that are voting tomorrow and calculate those odds.
Unless Willard actually dies between now and the convention, he will be the nominee. There is no serious path for any other candidate, there is no real chance of a brokered/convention, and there is zero reason to believe Romney would quit the race.
You probably could fit all the Newt supporters in CT in a phone booth—if they are any still around (newt supporters or phone booths). :-)
Start a third party run by anyone. That will ensure Romney doesn’t win.

Yes.
If so, how?
BE THERE at all conventions, vote for and talk to all your delegates, offer to be an alternate (if you are not a delegate yourself). If all conservatives were to do this, it would be possible to stop it.
That is why they are trying to create such a sense of inevitablity about it. They know Mr. I-Like-To-Fire-People has the firm support of only about 20-25% of the rank and file of the party.
If Mr. My-Wife-Drives-a-Couple-of-Cadillacs does gain the nomination, I promise you the party will have hit rock bottom, but only in terms of the presidential nomination racket, and there will be nowhere to go but up!
Newt isn’t counting on sweeping it.
He’s trying to deadlock the convention, and he’s trying to qualify to be a force there.
Yeah, that might be why Newt isn’t crisscrossing CT.
