NFL quarteback Tim Tebow and NBA star Dwyane Wade took in the Yankees-Angels game Sunday night (April 15). They were not there together, but were sitting near each other and did stand up at one point to say hello.
But when Tebow's face was flashed on the jumbotron he was met with a loud chorus of boos, despite wearing a Yankees cap. D-Wade was booed briefly as well, but the boos turned to cheers when he put on his Yankees hat.
ESPN reports that Nick Swisher, outfielder/first baseman for the Yankees, was asked about Tebow's reception from the fans after the game. Swisher just says, "Welcome to New York, Tim."
Tebow was traded from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets this offseason, as a backup quarterback to the Jets' Mark Sanchez. Now, we will say that our New York friends have told us the fandom lines tend to lean towards Yankees-Giants, Mets-Jets - so perhaps Tebow would hear more cheers at CitiField over in Queens.
Both
Welcome to the Terrordome.
they were sitting together when I saw it on TV......MY GUESS IS local media say’s it’s Tebow, I say it was Wade. Once again the media “spins”
That no big deal Yankees fans always Boo
Doesn’t surprise me from Sodom on the Hudson. Bastion of libtards and social degeneration. Timmie you come down here in the Bible belt where people love and respect you!
"not sitting together"...get any nearer and we get another headline
LOL!
Only Riotous Animals would Boo Tim Tebow.
The Yankee fans Booing of Tim is a sure indication that our society or at least New York City has devolved and there is no hope.
Oh come on. The inhabitants of New York City never did EVOLVE.
I am not sure, but i will say this: being from a family who are Yankee’s fans, I can see the Giant’s/Yankees’ theme. However, I do wonder about NY booing an outspoken Christian. It certainly is possible that it is because of the latter, but my guess is that it is split, probably more in the direction of sports rivalries.
That was later in the game. First time the camera focused on them Wade was in the row behind Tebow.
That's why there's no Presidential Opener anymore. These cowards in the WH wouldn't dare subject themselves to a crowd they don't pick.
question: Does anyone notice the cross around Wade’s neck?
Tim is a breath of fresh air in the NY sports world.
Go Tebow!!!
Is New York really necessary? Can’t we sell or lease it to someone?
The article actually reads: "They were not there together, but were sitting near each other."
They did not attend together is how I took the report.
LOL II!
