Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!
No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!
NO ROMNEY!!
Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!
Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.
In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.
FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!
We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!
I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!
FUMR!! FUGOP!!
Long live the rebellion!!
Hope my message is clear.
Lieberman supported McCain, at what could have been great political cost. Lieberman had quite a fan base over here during that time.
Anyhow, I’m quite confident that any theoretical comparison between McCain’s SC appointees and Obama’s would show a stark, stark, stark difference.
Thank you for the information, I stand corrected. Let’s make sure we stop another McCain this time around.
Not sure who you think you are. You are not the site owner and he sure the hell does not need a little pissant like you speaking for him.
For people like you who post to personally attack others who are trying to be part of the discussion and doing their best not to get caught up in the same sophomoric crap, seriously, your style of DU-thug posting will be far more welcomed and expected over there.
No, I don't think there is an analogy equal to Mitt's cowardice at all. Mitt was the governor not some mid-level magistrate of a PITA podunk county in MA. Mitt faced some criticism in the press not the wrath of a Caesar.
Would that we were merely voting against a democrat, but we’re not. Let’s not forget to whom the Occupier bows and owes allegiance.
“Flexibility” - you ain’t seen nothing yet.
You don’t burn the house down to teach a child to not touch the stove.
If Mitt had stood for the life of the unborn there might have been a few freaks protesting in the street and they could have broken a shop window or two. If Pilate had stood for Jesus' life the entire region he was assigned to administer to might have gone into a full rebellion. And not one person asked him (IIRC) to free Jesus. Not even Jesus. Mitt can't say that no one spoke up for the unborn.
I don't think any of us here would consider voting for Romney over Obama if we believed that he wouldn't try to get rid of ObamaCare, would adopt Obama's policies on taxation, regulation, etc.. The real difference between all of us comes down to our different predictions about what Romney will do if elected, not a different in beliefs as to what we want him to do. We all would prefer that he govern more conservatively as President than he did as Governor.
Some of us say that based on his governorship of Massachusetts, he's shown himself to be a liberal who can't be trusted. Others say that he was constrained by political realities in Massachusetts, and would govern more conservatively as President. But those are factual disagreements, drawing different inferences, etc.. They are uncertain, and are not differences based on different principles. Those who say they "know" that Romney will be as bad or worse than Obama simply can't know that. It's a guess. They're certainly welcome to that guess, but that should be cause to make that topic verboten here, nor should it be cause to exclude anyone who thinks differently.
There is no way for any of us to know which of those opinions is correct, but the point is that neither of those opinions reveals a betrayal of conservatism or conservative principle. It's a different of opinion on a prediction as to how Romney will act if elected. Whether he will stick with the more conservative rhetoric he's shown in this campaign, supporting Ryan's budget, etc., or whether he'll simply revert to Obama-lite. It's a guess either way.
And it just kind of saddens me that all of us who are on the same general side of conservatism can't recognize the true nature of our disagreement so that it doesn't become so divisive.
I have no idea how that makes Algore's former running mate an acceptable VP pick for McCain.
Anyhow, Im quite confident that any theoretical comparison between McCains SC appointees and Obamas would show a stark, stark, stark difference.
I have no idea what makes you confident of that given McCain's record.

Much appreciated, caww. The dynamics that I stated are exactly what we're up against. In the weeks and months to come, I expect that many others will voice the same thoughts, and enlarge public awareness of the threat a Romney presidency poses to us.
George W. Bush at time operated politically in much the same way as McCain, currying favor with Dems, saying nice things, trying to compromise, etc. But when it came to SC justices he did a pretty darned good job. Not perfect, but way better and different than Obama has done.
Romney still could be beat by a unified opposition. Both in money and votes.
We're no longer interested in 'teaching' the Ruling Class that runs the party, a lesson.
We're not going to burn down their house.
We're LEAVING their house - no longer beholden to their rules, tactics and disdain for us. I'm supporting only Conservatives - PERIOD. If the candidate running is not of our principles and has a record to prove they are not someone we can trust to uphold our principles, they will not be supported. If they engage in warfare against any Conservatives, we will engage them in warfare as vociferously as we do the Marxist Left, and count them among the enemy.
If we are in "full rebellion mode" then we ought to be so for a similar purpose our forbears were; Independence from those who in any capacity - work to make this people bow to the crown of state.
I will no longer buy into the false arguments regarding 'anyone but Obama', 'lesser of two evils' We tried that one back in 2008. November will have the same result.
We've gone Soviet and so many absolutely and desperately cling to the false belief that there is a choice in keeping the Republic breathing if Romney is the nominee against Obama.
Correction: there are no easy options.
Our forefathers would look upon us with great scorn, if they could see us now. They faced much worse options than we do today, yet they did what they had to, to secure the blessings of freedom and liberty for themselves and their posterity.
We have options. What we're missing is backbone and courage.
One thing we know for sure, IMHO, and that is how Obama will govern. If anything, his next four years for the country will be worse than his first four in terms of what he tries to accomplish.
This is a quote I have had up on my JEFFHEAD.COM site since Obama was sworn in as President:
I pray we can be blessed by God's HAnd with the wisdom and virtue sufficent enough to turn things around and begin to restore our Constitutional Republic.
If Mitt were a conservative fighting against a tide of Mass liberalism for conservative principles wouldn't there be some evidence in word or deed of that struggle? Just a shred?
Whether he will stick with the more conservative rhetoric he's shown in this campaign, supporting Ryan's budget,...
I'm glad Mitt has firmed up his opinion on that.
Mitt Romney Hedges On Support For Paul Ryan Budget PlanRomney was asked by a reporter during a stop in a Des Moines suburb whether he would sign the Republican plan if he were president. But the former Massachusetts governor declined to answer.
"That's the kind of speculation that is getting the cart ahead of the horse," he said.
"If we don't make any changes, then Medicare won't be there for the next generation and that's unacceptable to me. So I appreciate what Paul Ryan has done," Romney told reporters in Ankeny after visiting an agricultural software company. "I'm going to have my own plan."
