What if Santorum wins PA anyway (vanity)

Just a thought, what if we were able to coordinate a massive protest vote against Romney. We could find a group to run an ad of our own saying we're tired of Romney's relentless negatives, tired of his lack of a real platform, and tired of having him shoved down our throats.

Can it be done? Sure, through Facebook and Twitter we can get the word out in days. Should it be done? Absolutely, it's our only chance to fight back and let them know we’re not their puppets.

I know the usual beaten down "it can't be done" meme but that’s wrong. We're Americans, we can do anything we set our minds to. Don't let them "deem" the race over.

If you still need motivation, picture Rove, Twinkle Toes, and the others on election night if Santorum still wins even after he suspended his campaign. You have to admit, that would be golden!

I'm still voting for Newt in the PA primary, but Newt is getting real tiresome with his campaign begging.

I donated a couple of times and now, every day, sometimes twice a day, I get another email.

At least he is too broke to swamp me with robo-calls.

I'm getting three to five a day from mittens but since Rick has bailed, that will probably stop {for a while}.

I think the powers that be in PA. pulled Santorum aside and informed him that he wasn’t going to win even if he pulled 80% of the votes.

Well, ask yourself this question:

Will doing so take away a win or strong showing from Newt? That is, pull the rug out from under any effort for Newt to take Rick’s voters?

I don't think it will happen in PA, but I was wondering if it could happen in other states where his name is still on the ballot. I will still vote for him in my state in May. I think the establishment is going add insult to injury and demand Santorum urge his supporters to vote for Romney in the remaining contests. I really just don't have much use for Repulicans anymore. The governor in my state opposed the Keystone pipeline and then beat up Obama about it. Classic.

The deal has been struck. Santorum is Romney’s VP...he’ll just urge his delegates to vote for Romney....how is this not so easy to determine?

I’m voting for Newt, which is what I planned to do anyway.
I don’t know why Santorum quit running, he was in a solid second position and Lord knows, Romney can shoot himself in the foot. Nobody seems very curious as to WHY Santorum quit, which he did not explain. But it’s probably too late to do Newt any good.
Romney’s last training wheel came off yesterday, in my opinion. All that remains is the endorsement Santorum makes: Romney or Gingrich.

This stuff always happens when folks lose their candidate. Don't you remember the Cainiac's were supposedly going to write him in in whatever states he was on the ballot? Same for the devoted Palin people and she was never a candidate in the first place.

Santorum is out, he is not going to win PA or any other state. There is just some people who take awhile to accept things like this.

That would have the magnitude of a Palin move, but the establishment wants the social conservatives to disappear in this contest. I think they believe the Ryan or Rubio types have enough bonafides without the downside of putting up with a religious nut. Ironically, Romney will get creamed on LDS in any case.

Possible. It's still a mystery. Was it the carrot or the stick? Why does a shooting star candidate like that suddenly fold, when he's got cards and isn't too seriously in debt?

I am voting for Newt. If santorum wins in PA, his delegates will go to romney. That is bad as eating arsenic to test whether it might kill me.
A win for santorum in PA is a win for romney. What is wrong with you?

"The deal has been struck. Santorum is Romney’s VP."

I don't know about that. Willard is busy paying off Pawlenty's campaign debt (all $53.95 of it). Picking Pawlenty would be a PERFECT fit for Bishop Plastic-Vanilla.

Rick quit way too soon. If he stayed with a $broke$ campaign till the convention - would be better than quiting. If my state still had the primary to come - i would vote Rick anyway.

I think Santorum’s little girl's illness weighs heavily on him and that might also be another reason for him to withdraw before PA.

Bella is around 3, I think, and has just come out from 2nd bout of pneumonia. She also has a chronic illness that is quite serious. He might go VP but with his daughter's health problems so serious, he might not even go VP.

God, please bless and heal Bella and bless Santorum's entire family.

If there is someplace to send money to help Rick win PA, tell me where, because I would love nothing better than to see him beat Romney. As far as Newt is concerned. I really considered voting for him in a few weeks, (plus I might be a delegate) but if his supporters are anything like him, no way. They continue to trash Rick, even when he is gone and it sounds like his daughter is worse than anyone knows. You think they would use common sense and invite people to vote for Newt, instead, on most threads, they trash him and call you names if you don’t agree with them. Sounds like romney, the gop and obama. Maybe they are romney trolls trying to hurt Newt.

Almost the entire Republican party was coming out against him. Over and over you were seeing the delegate allocations somehow end up in Romney’s favor even when Santorum won. He beat Romney by 23% in LA and only got 5 more delegates? You just can’t beat the machine. My problem now is do I care enough to support the liars on the Right vs. those on the Left.

You are so right,,, but, some of these folks here are determined to re-elect obama by running down the Republican nominee.
I still think we got Obama because of all the bad feelings on the right against McCain. Was he the perfect candidate? NO, mercy, NO! Was he a 1,000 times better than Obama? Yes!
I won’t be home to answer all the hate filled replies to this message, but those of you who are, should take a step back and re-think what you are doing by hating Romney so much that you will inflict this nation with another 4 yrs of Obama.

I'll tell you what's wrong with me. Newt blew himself up and will never be able to rise in the polls again, Rick quit and we are left once again with those famous words "bend over".

You say a vote for Rick is a vote for Romney, so what! Not voting is a vote for Romney so why shouldn't we at least try to make a statement and get to a bc?

I'm sick of people telling me not to try, it's futile. No it's not and fighting Romney now won't hurt our chances in Nov. The best way to lose this fight is to not put up a fight.
