If we can make voting verifiably honest once again, we should be able to slowdown the democratic cancer destroying this country.

Dayton says the amendment would cripple Minnesota's election system by curbing same-day voter registration, absentee balloting and mail-in voting.

Do you suppose Dayton can explain, in plain English, exactly how requiring voter ID hurts the state?

There was actually a time when a voter had to know a little about the principles of democracy to be able to vote. Now you just need a pulse, and no ID. Crazy world we live in today.

all of the items needed to elect you sorry butt, Dayton!

Sounds like Mr Dayton fears losing the Minnie Mouse vote and the Six Feet Under vote.

It’s hard to imagine an honorable motive against insuring that the vote is legitimate.

Someone needs to get O'Keeffe to go get a ballot for Dayton, and secretly film it.

Is it not the case that O’Keefe made this happen?

It is truly amazing what a single 20-something can do that thousands of supposed GOP leaders seem incapable.

Perhaps the Governor should watch this video: US Attorney General Eric Holder's Ballot to Vote Offered to Total Stranger

Gee Gov. Dayton, don’t Minnesota citizens already have to produce a photo ID, to buy liquor and cigarettes, apply for food stamps and welfare benefits, get on an airplane, enter a federal building, apply for a job, buy over the counter decongestant medications in a pharmacy, buy a car, boat or snowmobile, take a test drive at a car dealership, enter many clubs and entertainment spots, get a state fishing license, pay for goods and services by using a check and of course have a photo ID drivers license on their person to legally drive a car in Minnesota. So why is it a burden to have a photo ID to vote?

Conspiracy to steal an election should be a capital offense.

If the governor is willing to push that legislation instead, I could see backing down on requiring photo ID to vote.

Raise the penalties for ballot stuffing.

“Now you just need a pulse, and no ID.:

Actually in some places (like Cook County), you can be six feet under and without a pulse and still vote.

curbing same-day voter registration, absentee balloting and mail-in voting.

All three should be shelved. Only mail in allowed should be military people overseas or stationed out of state.

That's just me

i remember seeing on here that in ‘08, SCOTUS ruled these laws were constitutional. If so, how can there be DOJ interference and so much contempt for them(rhetorical)?

The governor says he doesn't think there is a way to prevent it from going to voters.

IOW...he would stop the electorate from voting on it if he could. There is NOTHING democratic about democrats.

But, hey! It’ll be voted either up or down using the old voting system, under which he was elected. So what’s he worried about?
