I've been here a year or two.
The demands of the fundraisers have gone up and up.
While I have no dispute of Jim's numbers as up front, they have gone governmental.
Look closely at the budget. Decide for yourself.

Sorry you feel that way, but thank you very much for your past support. We’re not the least expensive operation in the world, but we’re not nearly as expensive as some of the others that consume millions of dollars annually. We do what we can with what we raise and we try (not always successfully) to pay our expenses, pay our taxes and stay out (or get out) of debt.

That's what gets me about these lame posts. If you don't agree, don't pay, simple as that. No one is forcing anyone to do anything and no one is under any delusions about the budget. Each person freely chooses what they think things are worth and donates accordingly. Myself, I look at FR as a replacement for newspaper subscriptions. Jim doesn't demand anything from anybody.
Yet there is always one drama queen in every crowd who has to say 'loooook at meeeeeeeeeee, I'm quitting because I'm special.....'
Probably the same type of person who holds up the line at a grocery store demanding price checks on every item and then pays with pennies and expired coupons.
This site should never run at a negative cost to the owner. Period.
