Bill Maher On George Zimmerman Tape: Is There Any Doubt That He Is A ‘Big...Liar?’

Bill Maher got really fired up on his show tonight over the Trayvon Martin shooting, and tore into George Zimmerman for his pithy defense of his actions that night, bluntly calling him a “big f!@#ing liar.” Maher showed the tape of Zimmerman, which may or may not disprove the claim that Martin broke his nose and fought with him. Maher thought Zimmerman’s claim was completely ridiculous, and asked if the tape was definitive proof that Zimmerman was lying about the struggle.

Panelist Van Jones noted that in most cases, the families of the victim tend to trust that “the police is on your side,” but since the police didn’t arrest Zimmerman due to the stand your ground law, Jones admitted that he wasn’t sure how to make his kids safe if they couldn’t trust the police or wear hoodies or whatever else may be too dangerous for them. Maher asked if at this point, anyone could doubt that Zimmerman was lying.

Rich Galen made it clear that no matter what kind of person Martin was, he didn’t deserve what happened to him, and tried to point out that teenagers die needlessly due to traffic accidents, but Maher steered the conversation back to the topic. He said that if it was true that Zimmerman had a broken nose, blood would have been all over his shirt in the video. He asked why “the right [is] so anxious to defend George Zimmerman” and suggesting that everyone is rushing to judgment.

If a person was calling from his car, the car would provide a faster get the hell of there plan.
If it was me and I was not in a car, Distance and cover is the key. I would maybe shout a warning that the cops are coming. If the subject closes,it then becomes a threat situation.
The problem with the Stand your ground thing is stuff like this. It might encourage people to put themselves into areas they wouldnt ordinarly go but since they are armed they put themselves in harms way. People got to remember they are not police, they are citizens. That gun on your hip does not mean you can walk the streets like a cop. It means that you choose to defend yourself against attackers. Common sense in needed. You have to think about the burden you have if things goes south. And the aftermath if you have to pull on someone, You better make damn sure you are in the right or else Spike Lee will TWEET your address{but since Lee got it wrong, maybe that isnt a real threat afterall}.
I carry, I hope I dont have to use it. I dont go into places I wont go unarmed. Hopefully everyone here uses the sense God gave us when it comes to this.

Jones admitted that he wasn’t sure how to make his kids safe if they couldn’t trust the police or wear hoodies or whatever else may be too dangerous for them.

Your kids, and everybody else's kids, are in FAR more danger from hoodie-wearing black young men than they are from CCW holders -- unless they make the mistake of violently assaulting a CCW holder.

Maybe that's what's got him and his buddies upset -- taking away their constitutional right to bash people on the street with impunity.

Zimmerman wasnt a cop,had no training and a room temp IQ when he confronted Martin.

You have no idea what training Zimmerman did or didn't have. And just because somebody collects a cop's paycheck doesn't mean he has had a lot of training, much less an IQ above room temp.

“Jones admitted that he wasn’t sure how to make his kids safe if they couldn’t trust the police”

The law that precludes the police from arresting someone without probable cause probably protects minorities more than it does anyone else.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winnah!

No thats a 911 call center not associated with the PD or the SO. They route calls to either the PD, SO, FD or EMT then their dispatchers handle it from there.

Why with a long hot summer ahead and a national election on the horizon?

Why indeed? I agree - looks like someone could be ginning up a race war. But that's where we part ways. The last thing we need to do is 'chill'. We have a window of opportunity before the heat of summer - a chance to demand adults in the Black Community take back power. Pull it back from poverty pimps, race hucksters, and white liberal elites who feed off black misery. That's NOT going to happen if white people continue with 'quiet superior guilt'. Condescension's offensive on so many levels.

White adults need to speak truth to the black community. They're NOT out of control criminals and children. Lots of grown-ups among them - but the MSM isn't giving them the mic. That goes to those who would push for racial violence - and would benefit from it.

Game theory shows that our best response right now is to go (verbally) toe to toe with them. Move the parameters of the argument. This is potentially a nightmare for our country - black, white, Hispanic - all of us. Ronin - we both agree someone's ginning up a race war - we both agree that will damage all of us... we just have different ideas on how to make it better. Mine? Speak the hard truth. Create real dialog. Insist on common responsible grown up standards. Condemn those in the MSM who feed off cheap thrills, racial violence and lies.

Zimmerman actually did have some training:

2008 Seminole County Sheriff’s 4-month long citizen Academy (14 hours)

2009-current, attending Seminole State College, associate degree, emphasis: law enforcement

{during the previous year, 402 calls were made to the police from that community specifically, to report burglaries, thefts, and a shooting. Zimmerman made about 10% of the calls -sounds like a real swell place to have to live}

This type of situation ONLY gets better when citizens are willing to speak truth to lies. You did that... Thanks, blueplum.

I keep hearing internet experts say stuff like this.

BS. Any citizen has the right to check a suspicious person out. Listen to the Zimmerman call audio. He is trying to keep Martin in sight. The “chase” that posters keep yammering about lasts about five seconds. The rest of the call is Z walking.

I do not buy that a neighborhood watch guy or any citizen cannot walk around at will, armed or unarmed just as it suits him, and keep a eye on a suspicious character. There is no indication he tried to approach closely or was aggressive in any way.

That Martin’s person space extended to the horizon did not deprive Zimmerman of legitimate self defense.

About 1% of the calls. Zimmerman made his calls over 8 years not one year.

The intarwebs keeps repeating this error.

When they heard the name George Zimmerman of Florida the Left immediately thought they had an eighty year old retired Jewish Democrat accountant originally from Queens New York. They thought maybe George Zimmerman was a runaway from the Democrat’s Jewish plantation (Bob Dylan’s real name is Zimmerman after all) who had gone NRA gun toting Republican TEA partier on them.

They were wrong.

George Zimmerman is a 28 year old self identified brown skinned Hispanic Democrat who they wish was an NRA member. He tutors Black children in his home and is not a TEA partier.

They looked at the picture of Trayvon Martin and fooled themselves into believing he was an angelic youth headed for Harvard someday. Instead they got a budding thug who had a series of scrapes with authorities that included possession of burglary tools and drug possession.

They thought they could find evidence that Zimmerman was on top of Martin punching him and calling him the “N” word. Instead they have an eye witness backing up Zimmerman’s claim of self defense and the “N” charge is just a dream.

They thought his neighbors would tell reporters Zimmerman hated Blacks. Instead they have a Black character witness for Zimmerman and his Black friends and family.

They thought they would have a White Police Chief who would kiss their feet to keep peace – and his job. They lost that on day two. They now have Black Chief so that angle is gone.

They thought they would have two justifiably shell shocked parents who would do whatever they were told. Instead they got a pair of opportunists who have even less shame than would be Puppet Masters Sharpton and Jackson. They have copyrighted their son’s name and quit their jobs to promote the sale of “Trayvon” merchandise.

They thought they could bring in the Black Panthers to scare White people then go away. Instead they got the Panthers putting a bounty on Zimmerman and threatening to burn down Detroit.

They thought Zimmerman would be living in a “Lilly White” gated fortress that screamed “Minorities keep out.” Instead they got a community that is more than half non White.

They thought they could get Black celebrities to jump in and add strength and lust to their circus of lies. Instead they got a dimwitted Spike Lee tweeting a wrong address for the lynch mob to descend upon ,and Lee is now on his way to a nasty losing lawsuit.

They thought they could get a bunch of Black high school kids to peacefully march to protest what had happened to “Brother Trayvon.” What they got was a pack of wilding animals who ransacked a Walgreens after their march.

Now they are all so eager to wear hoodies to show they are “down for the struggle.” Do you want to bet the hoodies end up being made in non union sweatshops in some third world country?

This is too rich.

“My guess is that those probable cause laws were strengthened over the last fifty years precisely in response to the old Jim Crow laws in many cases. Now here we have the professional race hustlers complaining about them. Do they want to make it easy peasy for cops to arrest people and charge them?”

Easier to arrest the politically unpopular. I must admit, it is tempting to tailor laws to fit my convenience. But there are reasons we don’t do that, or at least pretend like we don’t.

The left’s disdain for due process in this case has been funny, if nothing else. I remember when this story was merely vague rumblings, before the dam broke. Watching some lefty cable news network—Current, or whatever—they evinced offense at the fact that Martin had been drug tested and Zimmerman left alone. As if it were due to Zimmerman being white—err, excuse me, white-hispanic—and Martin black. Which ignores the rather important distinction of Martin being dead and Zimmerman alive.

So far as I know the law, you need a warrant to drug test live people, and probable cause to get a warrant. You can’t poke people just because they shot someone, especially if the prevailing evidence suggests he was within his prerogatives to do so.

That is really what I am talking about, so I agree completely. What I wanted to warn against was the temptation to let the poverty pimps and hustlers — and whoever they are working for — stampede us into the kind of actions/reactions they want.

The Black Community should be much more alarmed about that than this artificial hysteria over Trayvon Martin. Black youth is being whipped up into a frenzy that makes them good cannon fodder, but that is obviously not a healthy thing for their community or the country as a whole.

So, yes, taking this to leaders of all communities and demanding each take responsibility and take charge to cool down the rowdies is vastly important. But it is also important from the strategic sense to identify who is pushing the buttons and pulling the levers.

This can’t be airtight. There are too many players on too many levels for this to be governed by effective OpSec, but there is no doubt in my formerly military mind it is being coordinated somewhere by somebody or by a specific group or groups.

We need to brain this out better and start thinking about specific counters.

Easier to arrest the politically unpopular.

Exactly. That's why it's so bizarre to hear a race pimp whining about it.

...—they evinced offense at the fact that Martin had been drug tested and Zimmerman left alone.

Well, as far as we know Zimmerman wasn't tested. He could have volunteered. I think the best is yet to come when the full details are all released.
