“My guess is that those probable cause laws were strengthened over the last fifty years precisely in response to the old Jim Crow laws in many cases. Now here we have the professional race hustlers complaining about them. Do they want to make it easy peasy for cops to arrest people and charge them?”

Easier to arrest the politically unpopular. I must admit, it is tempting to tailor laws to fit my convenience. But there are reasons we don’t do that, or at least pretend like we don’t.

The left’s disdain for due process in this case has been funny, if nothing else. I remember when this story was merely vague rumblings, before the dam broke. Watching some lefty cable news network—Current, or whatever—they evinced offense at the fact that Martin had been drug tested and Zimmerman left alone. As if it were due to Zimmerman being white—err, excuse me, white-hispanic—and Martin black. Which ignores the rather important distinction of Martin being dead and Zimmerman alive.

So far as I know the law, you need a warrant to drug test live people, and probable cause to get a warrant. You can’t poke people just because they shot someone, especially if the prevailing evidence suggests he was within his prerogatives to do so.

Exactly. That's why it's so bizarre to hear a race pimp whining about it.

Well, as far as we know Zimmerman wasn't tested. He could have volunteered. I think the best is yet to come when the full details are all released.
