When I was a little girl, my aunt and uncle took me to Lake Michigan. While some of my cousins ventured far out into the waves, I played close to shore. Then my Uncle Norm asked me, Can you swim? No, I admitted. Dont worry, he said. Ill take you out there. But its too deep, I protested. Just hang on to me, he assured me. Do you trust me? Then I took his hand and we began to walk farther out into the lake.
When my feet couldnt touch the bottom anymore, Uncle Norm held me up and reassured me, Ive got you. Ive got you. Then finally he said, Okay, let your feet down. You can stand here. I was afraid because I thought we were still in deep water, but I trusted him and happily discovered that I was standing on a sandbar.
Have you ever been in so much despair that you felt as if you were sinking in deep water? The difficulties of life can be oppressive. God doesnt promise that we will escape the turbulent seas of life, but He does promise, I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5).
We can trust our faithful God to be there in all of our struggles. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you (Isa. 43:2).

SOUP FOR THE TROOPS
WELCOME TO THE
(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)
Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our
Military, our Allies, and their families.
Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities
~ Today...Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s.
Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph.
~ Tonight...Mostly clear. Lows around 40.
Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph...
Becoming south after midnight.
Looks like Mother Nature finally remembered it is spring and dropped temps to the 60s.
Making Z Zoup
A pinch of this...a dash of that...
Bill Gates formed a company to sell a
computerized traffic counting system to cities,
which made $20,000 its first year.
Business dropped sharply when customers learned
Gates was only 14 years old.
The opposite of a "vacuum" is a "plenum.
Energy experts say that ceiling fans
consume as little energy as a 60-watt bulb,
which is about 98 percent less energy than most
central air conditioners use.
Born Leroy Robert Paige, Satchel Paige was a legend
in the Negro Leagues for 29 years.
Many of his records in the Negro League
were never recorded.
On his 42nd birthday in 1948,
he was sold by the Kansas City Monarchs
to the Cleveland Indians.
Its owner Bill Veeck signed the old pitcher to a major league contract.
Two days later, Paige became the oldest rookie ever
in the major leagues of baseball
when he made his first appearance late in a game.
That night, he also became the first black
to ever pitch in the American League,
and the fifth overall to play in the major leagues.
As the majors' oldest rookie ever,
Paige had a 6-1 record, mostly in relief,
as Cleveland won the 1948 pennant.
He also pitched for the St. Louis Browns,
and pitched three innings for the Kansas City Athletics in 1965
at the age of 59.
Gotta run an errand but will be right back. Then...
I'll make my rounds.
But, you stay right where you are.
Keep the troops entertained and the Canteen clean...
Cause...if you don't...I'll tell Ma!
Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS
PLEASE REMEMBER THEM ....

THE SHEEPDOG’S PRAYER
The Knights of Olde were Men of Honor
Who used their Might For Right!
Today they’re known as Sheepdogs,
Those who carry on the fight.
I am a tired old Sheepdog,
The guardian of my flock.
I keep the predators at bay
And stand watch around the clock.
Please stop the Sheep from pulling my teeth.
I’ll need them for the fight,
When the hungry Wolves come calling
Some dark and deadly night.
I pray I’ll never need my gun,
But someday if I do,
May my cause be just!
My draw be quick!
And my aim be ever true!
Heaven holds a special place
For those who do the deed,
Defenders of the innocent
In their hour of need.
May the Sheep someday be grateful.
There’s a debt they can not pay
To the Sheepdogs who lay it on the line
Each and every day.
I am proud to be a Sheepdog.
I’ve done my very best.
I’ll stand my watch until my Maker
Calls me home to rest.
But when I meet St. Peter
There’s just one request I’ll make,
Please let me spend Eternity
Standing guard at Heaven’s Gate.
Lord, help us bring this ‘’Age of Sheep’’
To a rapid end.
Then fill this land with Sheepdogs,
Men of Honor, once again.
This prayer is dedicated
To those who bravely face,
The dangers all around us,
To make our world a safer place.
To the soldiers, cops and warriors-
Sheepdogs through and through.
Thank you for your service
And your sacrifices too.
Amen
