A 13-year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department has been suspended without pay for his comment Act like a Thug Die like one! in response to a story about slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
Jason Giroir is under investigation by the New Orleans Public Integrity Bureau after a remark was posted on WWLTV.coms website in response to an article about a rally supporting Martin. The slaying of the 17-year-old, who was shot by a neighborhood watch captain, has drawn nationwide attention.
Giroir has admitted to posting the comment last week. "His statement is, 'Yes, I did it," Giroirs lawyer, Eric Hessler, told The Times-Picayune. "He certainly didn't mean it as a racial comment, as an offensive comment, although it came out that way. He acknowledges he should have chosen better words."

He should be suspended for that. Aside from it being wildly inappropriate, as a former Prosecutor, that one comment ruins just about every case I’d have with that idiot.
Unprofessional and wrong.
Sometimes the truth is painful.
And always, political correctness is the act of inserting one’s head into one’s own arse.

What happened to free speech? It seems to me that there is plenty of evidence to support the policeman's comment. Trayvon was far from a model student, and closer to being a gang member, drug dealer, and racist, according to the evidence in the media.
Why should anybody be punished for stating their opinion, especially with support for their assertions?
I would say that the New Orleans Public Integrity Bureau is anything but. The New Orleans Public Integrity Bureau needs to take a time out and reflect on their own integrity, IMO.
In matters involving race and Blacks it is totally improper to tell the truth.
Only politically correct lies are allowed.
D’oh! Of course, the Nawlins PD isn’t exactly a hotbed of PCness.
A responsible media would have ‘Act Like a Thug Die Like one!’ as the focus of it’s coverage of this tragedy.
But they’d rather sell trash to dumb sluts.
The case is in a different jurisdiction in another state. How is it anyone's business what he says in a private capacity about a case in someone else's bailiwick?
Need a hoodie with that quote printed on the front of it.
I have no problem with what he said....
Yes, I know he is a Police Officer too. They are humans entitled to their opinions.
Some of them may be Replicans, they will want to suspend them for that soon too...
Lawyers/politicians/Marxist media all masters of half truths or lying by omission so I am sure they will attempt to spin the LEOs words to their advantage instead of trying to get to the truth. It seems to be all about winning and not truthful justice.
He was a thug! By his own Tweets he WANTED TO BE KNOWN AS A THUG N-Word. When he called himself a THUG N-WORD why should we pretend to not believe him?
Seems he did a damned good job of damaging his own reputation.
The gene pool just got a little cleaner.
Mmmm, he wasn't actively involved with or investigating the case. In fact, it's not even close to his jurisdiction
As a "former prosecutor" I would suspect you would know better.
You haz a distinct troll smell, enjoy your stay.
I’ve seen plenty of ‘white’ thugs, in my day, so the use of the term doesn’t seem ‘racial’ at all.
It applies to ‘thugs’, no matter their race/color/creed.
The officer is right.
Live like a thug, die like a thug.
Ask Trayvon Martin.
Alternatively, “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”
Amen, BTTT, whooah and +1!
So apparently, this guy is racist against Indians.

Outstanding post....and tag line too!
It’s gonna be on a billboard on the White House lawn one day the way the media twists these things.
I hate them so: anything to get dumb people for their advertisers.
