A high-ranking member of the New Black Panther Party was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the DeKalb County Sheriffs Office said Monday.
DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Hashim Nzinga, 49, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Hashim Nzinga, 49, recently announced on CNN that his group was offering a $10,000 reward for the capture of George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla. CNN identified Nzinga as the chief of staff of the New Black Panther Party.
According to a DeKalb arrest warrant, Nzinga was in possession of an FN Herstal 5.7 x 28 handgun, which investigators said he pawned at a shop on Rockbridge Road. That alleged transaction would be illegal due to Nzingas convictions last month for felony deposit account fraud in Gwinnett County, the DeKalb Sheriff's Office said.
Nzinga was arrested by members of the fugitive squad at a probation office in Lawrenceville and transported to DeKalb County Jail.
The New Black Panther Party is offering a $10,000 bounty for the capture of Zimmerman, the Florida neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed Martin, an unarmed teenager, last month.
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," Black Panther leader Mikhail Muhammad said Saturday at a rally in Sanford, where Martin was killed Feb. 26, according to Fox News.
Zimmerman has claimed he shot Martin in self-defense, but the New Black Panthers are calling for mobilization of 10,000 black men to capture Zimmerman, who has gone into hiding, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
"He should be fearful for his life," Muhammad said. "You can't keep killing black children."

My sad-but-true prediction is that the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office will be under investigation by Eric Holder by the end of the week...
LMAO!!!
>>My sad-but-true prediction is that the DeKalb County Sheriffs Office will be under investigation by Eric Holder by the end of the week...<<
Worse, I predict the DeKalb County Sheriff and his family will be under investigation by Eric Holder by the end of the week.
This totalitarian regime can’t end too soon.
You’re probably right.
This entire situation is such an outrage I can’t help but laugh.....either that or I’ll bawl like a baby. It’s so plain to me that this Administration & its cronies are trying to incite a race riot. I can’t believe so many others just don’t see it. Sickening.
You can’t keep killing black children.”
They seem to be doing that pretty well themselves.
RICO violations. will Holder shut this entire sh!thouse down or give them a medal. Nobody is shouting domestic terrorism?
Interesting that the media overlook an opportunity to point out that the gun in Nzinga’s possession was labeled a “cop-killer” by the media a few years ago. Could there be some bias here???? No, tell me it’s not so!!!
these idiots are not very bright for sure , now just imagine of the DOJ actually stopped being racist and did their job.
I mean it’s not like the DOJ doesn’t have any video proof of what they say or do.
Does the Southern Poverty Law Center [left wing hate group itself], ACLU class these racist idiots as a hate group yet?
No Limit Nzinga?
Wow...that is something. How could they possibly be so insensitive to arrest one of nobama’s future czars?
I would like to predict that the NBPP will start a campaign of open carry in Sanford Florida, IN SPITE of Florida’s no open carry law.
And just like when they showed up with rifles in the California State Capitol, they will get away with it.
They will march and rally, openly carrying in the same neighborhood where Trayvon was killed.
Wonder if they will meet the same response as in Pasadena Texas?
“FN Herstal 5.7 x 28 handgun, which investigators said he pawned at a shop on Rockbridge Road.”
Nice little handgun. I wonder if the bank fraud paid for it?
*smiles*...my original thought expressed but not posted quickly enough, well done
Probably trying to right the wrongs in his life, Kudos to that convicted felon for taking on this thug!
his group was offering a $10,000 reward for the capture of...
Perhaps Hashim needs to make a new offer, say $20,000, to get himself out of jail.
Cannot pay rent:
The current charge doesn't show, but 2 counts of theft by taking went Nolle Prosse (translation: State refuses to prosecute).
That is for ONE county, Dekalb, in Georgia.
No matter where you fall on the scale between Martin and Zimmerman, this statement is the truth. Instead of the Administration coming out and saying to let the legal system work, he puts his big community organizing foot into the poop. And the same can be said for any of the politicals from Sharpton to Santorum.
What they all should have been doing is encouraging the support of the legal system. They are government representatives and should be "blind" instead of playing into the 'street justice' mentality.
You and I and everyone else can debate and discuss the merits, but in the end...we ALL must accept the findings of the legal system.
I do not see this turning out well for anyone at this point. The politicals are just adding fuel to the fire, instead of being firemen and tamping down the flames. Idiots.
“Muhammad said. “You can’t keep killing black children.”
Oh. Mo. Don’t be such a stick in the mud. It’s your kinds favorite past time.
Poaching.
