Santorum open to being Romney's running mate
CNN ^ | 03/26/2012 | CNN Political Unit

(CNN) - If Mitt Romney becomes the Republican presidential nominee, rival Rick Santorum would not rule out the idea of becoming his running mate, the former Pennsylvania senator said in an interview on Monday.

Asked by the Christian Broadcasting Network if he would consider a vice presidential offer, Santorum said he would do everything he could to help the country.

"Of course. I mean, look. I would do in this race as I always say, this is the most important race in our country's history. I'm going to do everything I can. I'm doing everything I can."

Now Santorum is starting to lose my support. Being Romney’s running mate does not help our country.

If Romney is elected the country is screwed as well...maybe not in less than 4 years like with Obama...

If the GOP actually picks Romney...then people should finally realize the truth about the GOP.

This really ALL sucks!!!

In 2008, I did everything i could for John McCain. Even if he hadn’t named such a terrific running mate, but that really helped.

A whole bunch of folks ain’t voting for Mitt no matter what. I reserve that pronouncement for a later time. I have no idea what else Barry’s gonna do between now and election day for me to speak such dogma at this point.

LOL! This has to be the funniest campaign ever. Santorum is accused of saying he wouldn’t vote for Romney. So they beat the heck out of him for that. Then he says not only will he vote for him, he could run with him. Then he gets the heck beat out of him for that. Uh, speaking of saints remember McCain/Palin? Strange things do happen. Still, I’d have a hard time pulling the lever for Romney at the top. Plus I’m beginning to think this supreme court ruling is more important than even this election. That is the irreversible process.

Don’t do it Rick. I will NEVER vote romney. I don’t care who the VP is.

Santorum is an ambitious politican above all and his political career comes first. I think he is surprised as anyone that he got this far in the race having started from nowhere. I think he would take the VP slot on anyone’s ticket. If you see him start to lighten up on Romney after Wisconsin then it might be a hint that he is running for the Vice Presidency with a view to trying to convince Romney behind the curtain that he may be willing to barter deelgates for the slot if Romney comes up short.

“Santorum would kill any chance of Romney winning.”

Two points: 1. Santorum has no principles if he said this. Romney has trashed him beyond belief and he’d still run with the scum? And 2, Romney has a chance of winning? Who knew?

Nowhere in that did they ask if he would be VP for Romney. I guess CNN assumes that if Santorum does not win, it will be Romney. That is not necessarily true.

well, DUH . . .
Lawyer Ricky has been working for the VP slot on the Bishop Romney ticket all along.

Lawyer Rickey isn't stupid, he knows he can't beat King Barry if he's the nominee. He probably knows that Romney can't beat King Barry either but Lawyer Ricky really, really, wants the Vichy Republicans to anoint him with elephant urine so he can take his Lawyer Ricky gig to the next level. Just think what kind of good clients will beat a path to his door if he's the VP on a Bishop Romney ticket and what kind of support he'll get from the Vichy Republicans if we're still having elections in 2016.

Well, Romney can’t get the base to vote for him so choosing Santorum would put most of them on board. Normally, the candidate looks at a vital state he must have to win and then takes the VP from that state. In Romney’s case he has to get the base vote from all over the country and Santorum would help get that.

I won’t be one getting on board.

No surprise here. It’s been his plan all along.

LOL if loose lips sink ships then this buffoon could sink the Titanic!! What a dolt. It is getting to be funny how this guy gets on the radio or TV and just rattles on about this and that and never says a thing that amounts to a hill of beans?

I will be so glad when St. Rick goes back to lighting candles and lobbying for his living. YUCK the guy is nauseating.

they both are jokes now

Now? NOW! C'mon. He endorsed Romney in 2008. You didn't see it coming?

A vote for Santorum has always been a vote for Romney.

Read my tagline.

I stand by it

Then why didn't you get out before Florida Rick?

Perhaps the man has run himself into the ground. Only five days off in ten months. The commandment is “Six days you shall work and perform all your labor, and the seventh day you shall rest.”

Sometimes, I think this happens to our Secretary of State, to Condi Rice and Hillary Clinton.

The President is, correctly, protected from so much work.

His job was to stay in and keep Newt from beating Romney.
