Rick Santorum is likely to win Louisianas Saturday primary but a victory there wont help him much, say Republican strategists.
Winning Louisiana does nothing in the grand scheme of things, said GOP strategist Tyler Harber. It wont give a huge boost of support to Rick Santorum. Winning these contests isnt as important. Its now about winning the delegates.

It was a Santorum LANDSLIDE in Louisiana, no two ways around it.
What would be the spin if this were reversed and it was Mitt Romney seizing 50% of the vote there in a four way race?
Reality check is that RINOs can be expected to say exactly what RINOs will say, furthering the Establishment "inevitable" narrative, to which The Base and, and stil says: "NO! HOGWASH!".
They got it handed to them tonight, no other way around it. Now on to the next states and rallying the economic/social conservative Base to turn out there, too. The GOP primary voter turnout is so low here and there nowadays and Bishop Romney engenders so many doubts in peoples' minds still, I do believe the Santorum and the Conservatives can win the next few states coming up or do well in them, and make life miserable for Obama Light and the RINOs.
First of all, if you have to say it, it isn't true. God doesn't call anyone who lies about another to gain votes or promoting pro abortion candidate Romney, when there were other pro life candidates. Satan is the master of lies. On the note, have we seen his taxes yet?
Santorum has nothing to offer as a candidate other than his behavioral goodness.
And I haven't seen his behavioral goodness but I've seen his behavior in 'doing it for the team/GOP E' while voting against a conservative. And an underhanded deal with Kennedy so a church could gain property from veterans at way below market value. And his negative ad$ - that lies about Newt - are not goodness.
RE: First of all, if you have to say it, it isn't true.
Exactly, that determination is usually made in the hearts and minds and spirits of the people who observe or interact with you - they sense in their spirit they are in the presence of one sent by God. Like in the bible, God clothed Gideon with His spirit - the only people who were aware of that were those with spiritual eyes...
I would say God does call sinners, and uses the repentant reprobates and worse. But I don't believe He can use the proud or the pharisee, and there are ample examples of that. And if Rick is anything, he is a champion pharisee.
It is primary election season, we should not even have to be talking about issues like this - but we are because Rick has made them front and center in his campaign in an effort to capture the gullible...
Dont be petty please.
Delegates which go to (either) Gingrich or Santorum, are delegates which dont to to Romney.
Exactly. Santorum can't stave off Romney by himself. If newt gets out, half of his voters go to mitt, another portion to santorum, and some portion to ron paul. which helps romney a great deal, and still leaves santorum out in the cold...
Quoted at beginning of article: Beltway D.C. sycophantic Establish Republican RINO insider consultant in the tank for Ronney. Does not surprise me these toadies come out of the woodwork to contribute to the Willard Inevitability Narrative (WIN) being foisted on the Base--on a night the media said incessantly "Santorum had to win". He does, so they devalue it. But them slick D.C. boys got another think comin! We could run Sun-Tzu circles around this dude and be home for supper time.
Light weights.
He definitely has some element of the fanatics and extremes believing that he is the One who can do all these things on social issues and sent by God to do so. I can sense by some of his support here, (their own words), there is some deep anger (tolerance thrown out of the picture) I don’t want to be any part of that. (Not all of the people, by no means). These voters tonight, really have shown that they are not very mature to pick a person with leadership though we know the media has done their role. Santorum is the luckiest little politician if there ever was. We have the worse 2 candidates in the top tier/thanks to the GOP-e giving us Romney as the anointed. If one thing, I hope they learn from this huge huge mistake of the Dole-McCain plan (no more of it) They better be getting their butts in gear to understand; we need a new person-if they really wanted change, they would be behind Newt but they are not in that universe. It shows they don’t want the control (it would be too much work for them and of fighting the media) They don’t want to win, I don’t think. The ruling party should be ashamed of putting a man who supports socialized health care and supported gay marriage to represent the republican party. They thought the fear of Obama would give Mitt the edge now. ( Hey, RNC-that’s our problem-tell that to your intellectuals and The Hill and the secret power players)
EXACTLY! We would know if he was called.
I would say God does call sinners,
Yep, we are sinners saved by grace but the 'self righteous' are pharisee - enemies of Jesus as they tried to trip Him up - the 'religious folk'.
Buzzard Sunday, I see. I assume it's all tartar... or do you sometimes have Buzzard Barbecue Sunday...
It helps Newt because even in LA, with today's saturday's loss, newt won a major statewide tea party straw poll, almost the same as the primary results... newt 50-something, then romney, then santorum...
And some fields in the campaign have decided the socons are not going to be moved from santorum no matter what... their electoral choices derive from he's only been married once and he's a good family man.
But there is starting to be an appeal made to fiscal conservatives in the tea party re rick's dubious fiscal conservatism... and it is doing pretty well, and was reflected in that tparty straw poll today...
I've already seen two youtube vids of santorum supporters switching to Newt... I don't know if they are authentic, but this is where the case for Newt is being made... and maybe towards some thoughtful Christians, who can look at Newt's body of work, and see how much true effort and thought he has put into the subject of religious liberty in America, they are not just talking points to him.
That article happened to be the most recent, but there have been several articles by conservatives saying the same thing I believe, that it is better for Rick if Newt stays in.. and just as many saying the opposite.
That is what I was focusing on -- the fact that it's a delegate hunt now... I never though that if Romney had a major blowout in LA that it would up his inevitability. Nor did I feel a santorum win upped his, and that is why I posted the article. Lots of conservatives feel the same way, not just RINOs, is what I am trying to say.
Or atleast exhibit a minimum of good manners...
The GOP-e doesnt care if we win.
They just care that its them, particularly, who are in charge of the party.
Theyre control freaks.
The really interesting thing is, that Mark Levin has often said critical things about Boehner and McConnell, mostly when they committed very specific missteps due to lack of courage and ineptness. But a couple times this week, he has had actually started saying we need to get rid of boehner and mcconnell. That is a departure for him, and I think it might be stemming from how the gop is showing their true colors more and more with each passing day...

When Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom said, “Everything changes [after the primary]. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again,” the wind let out of the Romney sails. Romney had better start watching his money or he will be a dollar short if he comes up against Zer0.
You seem to be one sick hombre. Once again I ask you - did God tell you differently? When did you last confer with Him regarding Rick Santorum’s political career?
One day, you will stand in front of God and be judged for your life, thoughts and deeds. If you don’t believe this - then you have a 50/50 chance of being wrong, don’t you? Not very good odds, IMO. However, I believe from your post that you think that people who claim to hear from God are mentally ill, or retarded. Yes, that was in reference to your sheltered workshop statement. Shame on you!!
Oh, another delusional Newt supporter. Look - your guy doesn’t have a prayer of winning the nomination. I’ve met some very nice Newt supporters, unfortunately, you aren’t one of them.
Your hatred for Rick is shining through. And, yes, Rick can do just as good a job as Newt.
So, stop stalking me. Your ignorance is showing.
You guys jumped on the Rick train because he won a some races.. that doesn't make him qualified to get us out of the mess we are in.. All these Rick supporters do, is take away votes from the real leader in the pack... not to mention Mitt's horrible attacks on newt from the gitgo..
There were two people I could vote for in the primary.. One was Perry, who is Head and shoulders of above little saint ricky,
The other is Newt who, intellectually head and shoulders above them all....
Might be shocking news to you, but Newt didn’t invent conservatism.
