In Defense of George Zimmerman (vanity)

Posted on 03/24/2012 9:55:26 AM PDT by TigerClaws

Since there's been a public rush to judgment and many key facts are being ignored by the MSM I’ll defend Zimmerman.

1. He was walking in a public place. Nothing illegal about walking behind someone.

2. He had a legal right to his gun.

3. There were robberies in his neighborhood. Someone who didn’t live there (trespass?) was walking through.

4. He called 911 but without telling the cops where to go when they arrived there’s no suspect if it turns out a robbery took place.

5. He lost sight of TM and headed back to his SUV.

6. TM confronted him and started hitting him.

7. TM broke his nose.

8. Zimmerman asked a witness for help and to call 911.

9. Zimmerman fired his gun in self defense due to threat of immediate bodily harm.

Okay?

What’s your case to prosecute him or even arrest Zimmerman?

Zimmerman can sue you personally for malicious prosecution so your career and wealth are 100% on the line making this decision.

“as for your braying”

Nah, no nerve. That’s the language of an asshole and I called you on it.

I never said Zimmerman’s as pure as the new driven snow. I think he screwed up by following Martin athough other residents in the Neighborhood Watch say that’s standard operationg procedure. He also screwed up by getting out of the truck with his gun. He was carrying because he was on personal business. When he decided to become Neighborhood Watch he should have left the gun behind. I’m not convinced the shooting was murder or even unjustified. I’m not impressed with what they have dragged up in his past either. If you notice that charge of battery on a police officer was dropped. Scorned women will say anything to hurt their ex.

I was nearly arrested as a pedophile because some batshit crazy mom saw me drive up with her son and a big scary looking black guy at 10:30 at night. He volunteered at a local Boys and Girls Club teaching chess and was a friend of mine. The club had sent a group of boys and girls and some parents with him in a van to a chess tournament in Ft. Lauderdale I was also playing in. When the rest of them wanted to leave about 5:00 he was still playing and gave the keys to a parent. The boy wanted to watch his mentor and the father gave permission. The black guy asked me if I would give him a ride home. I told him ok but no kids. I was pissed when I saw him out in front of the college with the kid but it was 9:00 at night and I wasn’t going to leave them. Because it was so late the father asked if we could take him directly to his mother’s house. We were completely innocent but the mother was batshit crazy and had friends with her just as crazy. They formed a line behind my car to prevent us from backing out the driveway and called the police. I might have arrested me after listenning to the loony beotches. Fortunately, the cop listened to us and the father, by phone, then apologized and let us go. It was very close.

I was initially neutral. I wanted to see evidence (forensics etc.), and to let the justice system resolve this issue. The people that are judging Zimmerman are increasingly becoming irrational and illogical.

“For pete’s sake lets have a little common sense here, okay?”

You apparently have little sense of any kind. You’re the one making things up and presenting them as fact.

Why would Martin get into a fight with Zimmerman for no reason unless he was confronted or interfered with?

Which is more likely?

-Martin, out of the blue, attackes Zimmerman for no reason.

-Zimmerman does something to cause the altercation.

Well, I really don’t give a rats rear about your opinion but I didn’t post that

LOL, go back and read it again. I posted to Rooivalk. I included you on the "To" line because he had made the "this gun toting fool Zimmerman" post to you.

BTW, I agree with you, Rooivalk comes across as a real jerk.

Cheers.

Well, we can't ask him now, can we? All we can do is wait for whatever evidence exists to come out.

Which is more likely? -Martin, out of the blue, attackes Zimmerman for no reason. -Zimmerman does something to cause the altercation.

I can think of a couple of reasons Martin might have attacked Zimmerman.

1) Martin was as concerned about Zimmerman following him as Zimmerman was about Martin being in his neighborhood, or

2) Martin was irate about being profiled by Zimmerman.

But that is conjecture. The point is, you are leaping to conclusions. Why can't folks wait for what evidence exists to come out?

Here’s my version: some idiot stalks another idiot. The second idiot turns and punches the first idiot. The first idiot pulls his gun and shoots the second idiot.

Fortunately, our criminal legal system doesn't turn on what is "more likely", but rather what you can prove is true beyond a reasonable doubt.

Personally I think all the evidence that’s coming out is already out. Unless there is a witness that the state or feds have that says Zimmerman physically accosted Martin Zimmerman will not and should not be convicted of anything because there are witnesses to Zimmerman crying for help while getting his head bashed in.

Perhaps Martin felt disrespected. Perhaps he felt threatened. Why would Zimmerman call the cops, and then assault and kill Martin? The point is this is all speculation. Doesn’t anyone care about facts, or innocent until proven guilty anymore?

Oh and furthermore, you present a false dichotomy. Are there no other possibilities?

Would you want a prosecutor arguing that either:

A. You are a terrorist, and that's why you own a firearm;

or

B. The gun just magically fell out of the sky, and that's how you came to possess it.

Using the "this is more likely than that" standard creates false choices, and has no place in criminal legal process.

The “need to wait” part is what the “activist” and media lynch mob is working hardest to avoid. They had to get the narrative locked and the mob stirred up before the witnesses began to emerge. As soon as I noticed all the early reporting was based on spin from the family attorney, I knew a circus would ensue, and having had close experience with the Rodney King case I knew truth and fact would be the lynch mob’s first victims.

We’ll have to see. Whatever timeline the investigators can come up with will be critical, IMO.

“True beyond a reasonable doubt?”

And here I thought is “true to a media stereotype”.

"... I do suspect when all is said and done Zimmerman’s version will be pretty close to what happened...."

And what version is that? Can you or anyone else explain how Zimmerman FIRST made contact with the deceased?

How does Zimmerman explain how he and the deceased crossed paths?

This story that "the kid attacked me" does not wash. First off WHY would this kid who is on his way from the store decide to attack Zimmerman? How did he even know that Zimmerman was near him? Unless Zimmerman made some sort of aggressive action that caused the deceased to make a response.

This is why trying to reconstruct events from Zimmerman's version, as you term it, is just a load of caca. Zimmerman is trying to pose events to make himself look good and the otherside of what happened will never be told since Zimmerman killed the only eye witness to those events.

You haven’t read the recent accounts, particularly, the one from the police.

Zimmerman called 911 and told them that he was following a suspicious guy. The 911 operator told him that he didn’t need to do that, that she would send officers. It was not an order, just a suggestion.

Zimmerman continued to follow the guy and got out of his car to speak to him. Zimmerman turned to go back to his car and Trayvon ran after him and jumped him. Zimmerman was calling for help and some man, named John, responded and found Trayvon on top of Zimmerman, punching his face. He told him to stop and then went to call 911. That is when Trayvon was shot.

Apparently Trayvon didn’t know that Zimmerman had a gun.

So, there were two 911 calls, one from Zimmerman and then one from the witness. The reason that Zimmerman shot was because he was being beaten.

I’m not going to reply to you anymore. You’re an idiot and have already decided Zimmerman is a murderer. You’re completely ignoring what few facts the public does and have and making your own up as you go along. Say hello to Al for me.

Absence of information is not the same as evidence against a person.

If it is never determined how Zimmerman came to encounter Martin face to face, then there is nothing in that absent information upon which to charge Zimmerman.

I’ll take Zimmerman’s story + witnesses + police reports over the people filling in the blanks and ascribing motivations on this thread. Were you there?
