Several sources confirmed for WFTV that Sanford police thought Zimmerman should have been arrested for shooting and killing 17-year-old Martin.
Sources said Sanford police recommended State Attorney Norm Wolfinger review a possible manslaughter charge against Zimmerman.
Why would Norm Wolfinger sit on this? Jones asked WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer.
From my experience, it's possible he didn't have enough evidence, and once you make an arrest, the speedy trial clock starts, said Sheaffer.
That clock means Zimmerman has the right to go to trial within 175 days of his arrest. According to Sheaffer that would have put prosecutors in a bind to hurry and gather enough evidence to make the charge stick.
Several sources have confirmed for us that Sanford police turned over an investigative summary packet that included a charge of manslaughter. Can you confirm that? Jones asked lead prosecutor Bernie De la Rionda.
I'm not going to confirm or deny anything other than what I've told you, said De la Rionda.
De la Rionda is the lead prosecutor now in charge of the investigation that will determine if Zimmerman will be charged.
We're going to get to the truth, one way or another, said De la Rionda.

I agree
More people are going to die over this and it will be the fault of folks like Sharpton
If I was minding my own business and Zmmerman was chasing me and ultimately confronted me, there’s a possibility that I would have acted similarly. I’ll be curious to see how this pans out. By the way, Zimmerman was the first to raise the stand your ground defense, not me.
Must see video (upper left corner)
The charges are already in the initial police report:
Offense:
Negligent Homicide
Manslaughter - Unnecessary Killing to Prevent an Unlawful Act

They would have had to bow to those interests on the day of the incident as the police report confirms the above article. Carges were made the day of the incident.

Charges are in the initial police report. Blame the police then.

Sounds to me like you haven’t read the police report as I asked you to do yesterday. You were in disbelief when I pointed it out.

Negligent Homicide
Manslaughter

Yes, this is a case from February. When did the Critical Race Theory story hit the news? When did Soledad O’Brien bumble the definition of critical race theory on CNN? Can a black man in America find justice? This case is a perfect muddled mess for those who believe in the need for hate crime legislation. Now we must wait for more facts.
Wow.
May as well have just said, "We're going to railroad Zimmerman, one way or the other."
Bullcrap.
No cop is going to let a potential murder conviction walk away unless he KNOWS he’s got nothing.
“Probable cause,” people!
This is just the financially failing media creating a circus to sell made up news to the easiest duped segment of the population with a chip on its shoulder.
Our next scheduled event is wall to wall coverage of the riots the media has incited.
Yes, there is.
According to Florida law, you can't be held civilly liable, or even arrested for a justifiable use of deadly force.
The fact that Zimmerman was not arrested, pro forma, is a direct result of the stand your ground law.
You seem to not understand how a police report works. They are not alleging in the report that he is guilty of an offense. They must title the report something, so they put the title of the charge it would be if an offense was committed.
For example, if I come on the scene and you say a guy robbed you, and the guy says he didn’t, and there’s no evidence either way, I’m making out a report for “Robbery”. That doesn’t mean I’ve charged anyone or intend to charge anyone.
Seeing as how Zimmerman was not arrested, it would seem the Neg Homicide and Manslaughter were the charges being considered in the partial report: not charges filed.
The well armed and practiced folks in this household are not be the ones who are particularly concerned about this.....We avoid 40’s and crack because it ruins our aim....
that was my thinking, too.
Stories like this could make news vans a very dangerous vehicle to ride around in....
