NEW YORK (AP) Rush Limbaugh's opponents are starting a radio campaign against him Thursday, seizing upon the radio star's attack of a Georgetown law student as a "slut" to make a long-term effort aimed at weakening his business.
The liberal Media Matters for America is using a past campaign against Glenn Beck as a template. In Limbaugh, however, they're going after bigger game. He's already fighting back and the group's stance has provoked concerns that an effort to silence someone for objectionable talk is in itself objectionable.
Media Matters is spending at least $100,000 for two advertisements that will run in eight cities.
The ads use Limbaugh's own words about student Sandra Fluke, who testified at a congressional hearing that contraception should be paid for in health plans. Limbaugh, on his radio programs, suggested Fluke wanted to be paid to have sex, which made her a "slut" and a "prostitute." In return for the money, he said Fluke should post videos of herself having sex. Under sharp criticism, Limbaugh later apologized.
In one of the anti-Limbaugh ads, listeners are urged to call the local station that carries Limbaugh to say "we don't talk to women like that" in our city.
Ad time was purchased in Boston; Chicago; Detroit; Seattle; Milwaukee; St. Louis; Macon, Ga.; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The cities were selected to support active local campaigns against Limbaugh or because of perceptions Limbaugh may be vulnerable in that market, said Angelo Carusone of Media Matters.

What I see when Obamabots comment or respond to a comment, is that they are ORDERED not to watch any conservative network or listen to any conservative talk show.
Like good obamabots, they obey orders.
“who testified at a fake congressional hearing”
Fixed it.
That photo of Brock looks like it was taken in WWII Germany...part of the SS. Is that the look he’s is going for?

I thought non profits could not be political.
We should have our own campaign to overwhelm the IRS with demands that they finally investigate MMFA for all of their 501(c)(3) violations over the past years...
this is a good waste of money. Like the Walker recall effort. Let the communists spend all their powder on losing efforts like this, I encourage it.
Instead of just running commercials, if they really want to knock Rush off the air, here’s what they should do: Start their own liberal talk radio network to compete head-to-head with Rush. They can buy up low-powered AM radio stations around the country, hire hosts like Randi Rhodes, call it “Air America”, and then......oh, wait.....nevermind!
I’m waiting for “Rappers Against Rush”.
I’ll be tuning in to the EIB Network today to hear El Rushbo’s response to this “next step” against him.
hehehe
Liberals have tried radio many times...no one listens to them.
So there giving $100,000 to radio stations that play Rush in order that people will ask the stations to cancel the show?
I would keep telling media matters if they only spent a little bet more it may happen. Then if they cancel rush, the money stops coming in?
A fool and his money . . .
These people are blind to their own hypocrisy. They’ve enjoyed a double standard for so long against spineless republicans that they’ve no idea of the hornets nest they will stir. I almost feel sorry for them.......NAW.

Macon Ga.?
This must be part of obama’s stimulus package.
Hahahaha. I think they are terrified of what
is going to happen in November and it’s making
them misjudge their actions.
Rush is like Sarah Palin, the more attacked the
more they are beloved by the public.
Rush makes over 4 million a month.100 grand spent against him? I laugh!
ping
Actually, they DO recognize the hypocrisy and the double-standard. They revel in it because it benefits them and moves the cause forward.
ROTFL! They're right about that; they use MUCH worse language!
“Dumb....just dumb. This will go nowhere.”
Agree completely, but it isn’t completely worthless.
Call it a tax-free stimulus. The stations will make money, and Limbaugh’s market share is going to go up, so I’d do everything I could to encourage them to waste, er, spend more on such a promising campaign against the current Leader of the Free World right now.
I contacted my local radio station that carries Rush and let them know I listen and appreciate them hosting the shows they do. I’ve also been trying to patronize the advertisers of the station, let them know that I’ve heard the slots on Rush’s show and appreciate the continued support.
This may be a small gesture, but I don’t think I can keep silent regarding these attacks on our freedoms. It’s time for all of us to stand up and shout a collective STOP to this mess.
