Would you vote for Romney?

I have seen a lot of FReepers state that they would NEVER cast a vote for Romney. That is my gut reaction as well. Mitt is on record saying that I will vote for him eventually. His arrogance makes me want to prove him wrong and write in a candidate. But I fear that will lead to 4 more years of Obama. Until I stare at the ballot in November, I don't know for sure what I will do. If it is a choice between Obama and Romney, what will you do?

If Romney is the nominee, I will vote the down-ticket with a vengeance, and leave the top spot blank.

I’m done compromising with the party elites.

Impossible. I can't vote for a pro choicer even if it means 4 more years of Obama.

Not to mention Mitts poor record on the 2nd amendment, gay rights, Romneycare, ect etc etc etc ad nauseam.

And brain washed cult member to boot on top of all that?

So not gonna happen.

Yep, we are in sad, sad shape.

“Is this one of those “trolling for people to ZOT “ threads?”

I don’t now what that means - so, no.

I’m actually torn as to how I would vote. I’m hoping someone can convince me. I like Alexander Hamilton quote (post #33) from Donna. But I still don’t know.

Romney is not pro any of the liberal things you listed. That is the little fantasy that keeps circulating here. Romney was more liberal in Mass. If you don’t want to forgive him, fine, but his positions now and in ‘08 are arguably the most straight conservative in the field. Romney ran as a conservative alternative to McCain even in ‘08.

There is only one difference between Romney and BHO, one thinks he will be god the other one thinks he already is.

PS For what it’s worth, i think the idea that Romney is “electable” is ridiculous. He has flip-flopped on social issues, and there is a fine line between “attracting moderates and independents” and “not presenting a true choice. Republicans will be accused of not really opposing Obama’s policies, but just wanting a white guy to replace him. And the media outlets will do a number on Romney as soon as he is assured the nomination. Romney could be an electoral disaster for the Republicans even without conservative defections.

And again i ask: is there any Republican of national prominence who was MORE supportive of Obamacare, or its principles, than Romney?

I am trying to make sure the Republicans nominate a conservative.

I've never seen any indication that Romney wants to destroy the country.

Me neither. But seeing how Obamam is destroying the country, we can't let him continue on this course. If he is re elected, he will have absolutely NOTHING to hold him back.

If it’s Mittens I will leave THAT line item as an undervote. I WILL NEVER VOTE GOP-E AGAIN! If Obama makes it in again I would MUCH rather him, the Dems, RINOS(GOP-E) and the Washington “Elite” take the BLAME when EVERYTHING comes CRASHING down!

When we all realized that Obama was bad for the country we gathered in to groups and discussed what should be done.

We protested, followed the rules, and for a while we had the upper hand.
Most of us then returned to work and took care of our families and realized that the candidates we had chosen in “our minds” to represent us didn't want the job.
We now sit back and see our country fall apart.
There are so so many dot coms and groups that want to do their own thing and NO ONE wants to come together as a whole.
We are splintered and have no one to unite us.
We are stuck with an Obama want-to-be (Romney) and we can't stop it.

American’s aren't mad enough yet. They aren't willing to get out of their comfort zone and come together to rid ourselves of the sewage that runs this country.
So, I say, I will not vote for Romney because he is no different than Obama.
He won't do anything but take care of his moneyed friends and we will still be in the same mess four years from now.
Be it Obama or Romney I don't care and until the rest of you get to a point where you are willing to get away from the computer and posting opinions instead of protesting and organizing, nothing will change. let me know (as I'm sure a few of you will ZOT me and call me names......
This why the Libs are winning.

Not enough forgiveness to go around for Romney. It all went to Newt.

Living in MA, I’ll vote for Romney and Scott Brown.

Living in MA, I'll vote for Scott Brown over Elizabeth "Granny" Warren. I will not vote for Romney -- not that it will matter: last I heard, Obama had a 60% favorable rating in MA.

I really don't understand the people who are counting on a Republican House and Senate(!) to rein in a putative Romney presidency. Are all those liberals and moderates supposedly so enamored of Romney going to vote conservative for Congress? I don't think so.

I will vote for him if he is nominated because I don’t think he will beat Obama anyway.

And I am for Newt.

If we elect a RINO 2012, we guarantee a lib president in 2016, with no conservative progress made between now and then. Mittens has a history of appointing liberal judges.

“I live in CA”

So true.. your state was locked up permanently for the dems after 1988. In a couple decades, PAN and PRI will be Cali`s choices.

A vote to sit on your hands is a vote for a communist who's determined to bring down our country.

I will not sit on my hands and allow my childrens' country to go down. Never.

Then you have know idea who Romney actually is:
both are gun grabbers
both are in full support of the homosexual agenda
both are anti-life
both are believers in man made global warming
both are supporters of working with leftest in the admins
both are supporters of government mandated health insurance
both are supporters of big government
both are liberal through and through
