There is no doubt that Israel is ready to carry out a first strike against Iran, Shlomo Gazit, former head of Israeli intelligence, told RT. And Israel will not seek any approval from the US or even its own citizens to make such a move.

The muzzies don’t respect the Obamaloon.
Our military doesn’t respect the Obamaloon.
Working folks don’t respect the Obamaloon.
Local flies, lice, and insects don’t respect the Obamaloon.
Who the Fluke thinks that Israel respects the Obamaloon?
RT = Pravda TV with a bunch of American liberals on it
Which still makes it to the right of MSNBC.
Can someone here do a brief summary of Israel's weaponry? They do still fly F-16's right?
the cole and the embassies were enough to attack afghanistan
They have fewer than 100 F-15s, and a little over 300 F-16s, with a mix of configurations for each (plus helicopters, which probably don't matter much at that distance). They do aerial refueling and can carry external fuel tanks as well. Israel also has significant domestic drone assets and may have access to some American UAV capabilities. Their special forces have substantial capabilities in supporting air strikes or operating on their own. I hope to see a demonstration of their weaponry very soon - before we see a demonstration of Iran's nuclear capability over Israel, in Europe, or on American soil.
you mean they won’t seek approval from the world community?
I don’t know the hit/miss ratios but their ‘Iron Dome’ system seems to work quite well. Seems this defense system is being put to the test nowadays. I don’t see how an attack on Iran goes without casualties in Israel, however.
I would consider, given proper intelligence, first strikes on leadership, command and control.
The other targets can come later after the command is disabled and hopefully in tatters. I suspect the military will not function if the politicos and commanders are disabled
I agree. Would be a good time for a mass internal rebellion too.
One way or another, there will be casualties in Israel. Whether it is from terrorists in Lebanon/Syria/Egypt timing the attacks they would have launched anyways and claiming they are retaliating for IAF taking out the Iranian nuclear weapons program, or from an Iranian nuclear weapon, there will be casualties. While I detest both options, I see only one of those choices as morally acceptable.
That’s one of my favorite comedy shows on TV. I always laugh my ass off at the collegiate nobodies they have on for interviews. The Alyona Show is another favorite when she gets two people to stand there with what looks to be martinis in front of them and make fools of themselves.
I’d love to be on that show. When the camera was on me I’d take a big swig of that drink and say “What kind of bs is this! It’s water with a gd olive for cripes sake! What a fake this show is!” And then walk off.
It’s amazing what people will do for a few minutes of camera time. In a more perfect world they would be taken out back and flogged for stupidity for making those without a well developed sense of humor suffer cruel and unusual punishment if they happened onto one of the appearances by accident.
Surely the Israelis have considered using an EMP strike on Tehran & Qum to either blind and/or decapitate the regime’s C&C and its ability to control the Iranian masses.
There would be Persian chaos on an apocalyptic scale, IMO.
Based on previous events, they or somebody has some forces on the ground. An all air campaign is not necessarily the plan.
“may have access to some American UAV capabilities.” They don’t need it. The Heron is not just any drone. Its a whopper as big as a Boeing 737, capable of staying in the air for 50 hours and capable of carrying 550 lbs of cargo and reaching Iran. It is capable of flying higher than any other drone. The original plan for the aircraft was deep penetration to do things like surveillance, reconnaissance and target acquisition. But at the end of the day, it is a big airplane that can be customized to carry all types of loads including mid-air refueling gear and weapons. Google Israeli UAVs, you will be surprised. Achmed better start bending over.
If I was PM Netanyahu, I'd do an EMP strike on Iran to take down their C3I (command, control, communication, intelligence) net. On SLCM launch, hold a country-wide attack drill and put the population in NBC shelters. Once Iran is electronically dark, hit it with Jericho 3 ICBMs on all their Command nodes, real and suspected nuke sites. The war is over in hours.
At the same time tell the Palestinians, Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, and Syria's Assad that if they so much as twitch to help Iran, they will become smoking, self-lighting holes in the desert. Israel isn't doing appeasement any more; Israel is in extermination mode. Only two choices, boys: (1) peace with Israel and live; (2) war with Israel and die.
I read that as ‘make a large whale’ the first time.
That's the max weight of the on-board electronics. Cargo load much greater.
