MOUNT STERLING, Ohio (AP) -- An Ohio officer whose use of a stun gun on a child resulted in the shutdown of a village police force said he shocked the boy twice as the 9-year-old lay on the floor with his hands underneath his body.
Details of the Mount Sterling incident released Monday say the boy was warned before the officer shocked him at his home last week following a truancy complaint from the sheriff's office.

5’5”, 200 lbs., NINE YEARS OLD???
oh cmon the cops will never follow the immoral orders, right?
Bad things happen when parents abrogate their responsibilities and expect the police to be the parent.
could work!!..
Come on, the cop should have known fat reduces effectiveness of tasers... (sarc off)
> truancy complaint
Compulsory attendance laws.
How wonderfully communist.
Right out of Marx’s Communist Manifesto.
Most that age are 4’5” and weigh about 80 lbs.
Department financially on the edge perhaps. Surely it was not merely this that got it axed.
Ma wanted the cop to do this at the time but now she’s suing. Figures.
He’s NINE.
he “refused to comply...” He’s NINE.
Sheesh...the cop is WRONG. Somebody should taze his azz...twice.
“He was also warned by the officer that he was going to be tased and he refused to comply”
Well, gosh, I guess THAT excuses it!
How about tazing the cops ass about 50 times, give him a 10 minute break and taze him again. This guy is a worthless excuse for a police officer.
Sorry but using a Taser to go after a 9-year-old truant is absurd. Don’t cops have better things to do than chase kids skipping school? The Mexican drug cartels are taking over the country, and some local cop is chasing a truant. Absurd. Forget the kid, and go chase El Chapo.
that bears repeating... HE IS NINE YEARS OLD.... has not even come close to pueberty, probably still learning his multiplication tables, HE IS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL....take the friggin stupid idiot no brained cop and fire the damn taser into him.. and videotape him writhing in pain on the floor, and post it on a website...he is an adult, this is a child, he should have known better....
I’ve been tazed, yes it hurts, but it is less painful than the use of joint manipulation or using a night stick which can break bones, tear ligaments and cause severe bruising. I always hear people say “he should not have done ....”
What I don’t hear people say is what he should have done. The officer tried to get the man sized boy to comply. He tried to get his hands out and execute the arrest. It is called the escalation of force. It starts with a calm voice providing instructions to the person to be arrested and escalates from there.
This type of speculation about what the officer should have not done is nothing more than arm chair quarterbacking.
So if you have an idea about what the officer should have done .... THAT HE DID NOT ALREADY ATTEMPT, then please, enlighten us with your words of wisdom.

Exactly...but not surprising. The entire job of the police is to do what their political masters tell them to do. This is why the police are never your friend. Have as little to do w/ them as possible. They’re corrupt, entitlement driven govt employees of the least common denominator type.
so, it would have been better if the NINE YEAR OLD was handcuffed, led out to a squad car, transported downtown, fingerprinted and mug shot taken, BECAUSE HE WAS HAVING A TEMPER TANTRUM LIKE NINE YEAR OLDS DO AND DID NOT WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL??? The mother is not a mother, the hyped out on steroids, on a power trip, you damn well better respect me cop is not a cop.... NINE YEARS OLD... ain’t you ever had kids before??? The more I think about this the angrier I get, and some of the ignorance being spewed on this thread is making me even more angry....
