Gingrich-Perry Pre-Convention Ticket in the Works
Fox News ^ | 3/11/12 | Carl Cameron

Posted on 03/11/2012 7:04:04 PM PDT by BCrago66

Sources close to the Gingrich campaign say preliminary "what-if" conversations are underway that could lead to a Gingrich-Perry ticket being announced prior to the Republican National Convention at the end of August.

Gingrich aides hope forming a predetermined ticket with Perry will unite the evangelical, Tea Party and very conservative voters that make up the core of the GOP.

As discussions got underway, two senior aides to Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who dropped out of the race and endorsed Gingrich, had not heard of the potential ticket and seemed dismissive. One noted that in the past, Perry has likened the Vice Presidency to a bucket of warm spit. Still, Gov. Perry volunteered his services when he endorsed Gingrich in South Carolina, so he may be on board if it's little more than a joy ride in a trial balloon.

Yep; of course it’a all academic because Gingrich has precisely zero chance of getting the nomination.

But from a purely academic standpoint it would be interesting to see if a Gingrich/Perry ticket could beat Goldwater or Alf Landon in terms of getting crushed.

Gingrich could never play second fiddle to Santorum. He is incapable of being a vice president. He’d never, ever under any circumstances agree to be vp—for anyone. He’s 68. Anyone who thinks he would agree to run for VP is delusional.

Newt was too clever by half, but he didn’t say we were inhumane ~ just that we wouldn’t adopt inhuman policies “but everybody has to get in line”.

Sandra Fluck, pick up the white courtesy phone. Please use gloves.

Cheers!

Sounds like a good deal to this Texan...or would you rather see the jobs go to China ?

Friday, March 09, 2012 • Austin, Texas • Press Release

Gov. Perry Announces Apple to Create 3,600 New Jobs in Austin

Gov. Rick Perry today announced that Apple will expand its presence in Texas with a $304 million investment in a new campus in Austin that will create more than 3,600 new jobs. The new campus will more than double the size of Apple’s workforce in Texas over the next decade, supporting the company’s growing operations in the Americas with expanded customer support, sales and accounting functions for the region.

In exchange for Apple’s commitment to create these new jobs in Texas, the state has offered Apple an investment of $21 million over ten years through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF).

However, it also seems quite possible that Santorum + Gingrich will get in the neighborhood of 1,300 delegates, sufficient to deprive Romney of a 1,144 delegate majority.

There's not a chance of them getting more than 1,144 combined if they both stay in the race. Ron Paul already has 64 and will continue to get more. Romney probably gets a bare minimum of 1,050 if everything stays status quo, and could get over 1,144 with just a little improvement. Most likely Romney and Paul will have enough to combine for a win at the convention. The only thing that could change the game is Newt or Rick dropping out and teaming up with the other. Then the remaining one could deny Romney a plurality in anything but Northeastern and Mormon states, and sometimes get over 50%. With 13 states with some form of WTA in April and beyond and only 10 proportional, that is the only way to shut Romney out of enough delegates to make a combined Newt/Rick convention ticket possible.

Paul supporters think Santorum represents everything that’s wrong with the government on all fronts, social issues, economic issues and military issues. They despise him to the very core of their being.

PPP Alabama numbers out, Romney's got the plurality:

Wish we could give you some clarity in Alabama but...Romney 31, Gingrich 30, Santorum 29, Paul 8

I’d rather see Allen West debating Biden.

____________

Wouldn’t that be a hoot!
Pay good money to see West tear him a new one.

Interesting since, to listen to all the Newtbotsa couple of months ago, Perry was a RINO no better than Obama, what with Gardasil and his positions on illegals and Muslims and vulture capitalism and what not. NOW, he’s okay to be Veep if it helps Newtie? Smells of desperation...

You may be right, but from what I hear, Newt is pretty sure anyway. Lot of “social” conservatives, but most Texans are more fiscal conservative at heart an like someone who tells ya how the cow ate the cabbage.

Perry just turned 61 on the 4th. He'll be young enough to face Biden or whatever the rats run to succeed Obama in 2016.

Now how about we blow the dems right off their rockers and run any combination of the following?

Cain
West
Palin
Gingrich

How do they fight any ticket with West or Cain on it?
If they do we can easily run a huge ad campaign of the dems being racist.
Palin and Gingrich ...either or both would appeal to the Tea Party gang.
Any Combination of two of that group would be powerful.
Sorry Santorum.. big leagues now, wait your turn.

For best results get all four on a pre-determined team who would hold top positions in the government. Invite Perry to be in somewhere on the team also.

The public simply won't vote for Republicans if they think we're palling around with a bunch of gays.

Well then, why has the public gone so strongly for Obama? Surely many must know of the stories of Obama's homo dalliances.
