These are just a few samples from the arsenal of degrading language Limbaugh deploys on women, people of color, lesbians and gays, immigrants, the disabled, the elderly, Muslims, Jews, veterans, environmentalists and so forth.
Limbaugh doesn't just call people names. He promotes language that deliberately dehumanizes his targets. Like the sophisticated propagandist Josef Goebbels, he creates rhetorical frames -- and the bigger the lie the more effective -- inciting listeners to view people they disagree with as sub-humans. His longtime favorite term for women, "femi-nazi," doesn't even raise eyebrows anymore, an example of how rhetoric spreads when unchallenged by coarsened cultural norms.
At least this most recent incident has turned a spotlight back on the vile, damaging statements Limbaugh has been promulgating for years. His sponsors are dropping him; his stations have begun to follow suit. VoteVets, a coalition of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, released a statement by female vets, including Katherine Scheirman, former chief of medical operations in the U.S. Air Forces, demanding that the American Forces Network drop Limbaugh from its programming.
They state, "Our entire military depends on troops respecting each other -- women and men. There simply can be no place on military airwaves for sentiments that would undermine that respect."
That makes this a fitting time to inquire of his syndicator, Clear Channel Communications, whether it intends to continue supporting someone who addicts his audience to regular doses of hate speech. Clear Channel's Premiere Radio Networks Inc., which hosts Limbaugh's program, has defended his recent comments.
If Clear Channel won't clean up its airways, then surely it's time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?"s program, has defended his recent comments.
If Clear Channel won

Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan and Gloria Steinem are setting National Policy now?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Seriously, I wouldn't be shocked if this was an elaborate hoax.
"I am Woman, Hear me Beg!"
Jane Fonda is a traitor. Nuff said.
There is no way any reputable company would seek him out to advertise on his program, yet many do and many, many more would like to.
No politician would have anything to do with him, yet he's taken calls from Presidents on his program and been a guest in the White House when that used to mean something.
I hope the feminazis keep pushing and pushing. Rush is a known quantity. His audience is loyal and doesn't appreciate his being slandered. It's only a matter of time before the backlash begins and the feminazis will have earned it.
The contempt I have for these ungrateful pieces of garbage is beyong description........especially Fonda......what a tramp
Never have the words, "What has been seen can never be unseen!" struck more terror into the hearts of men!
Post in haste, repent at leisure.
I will have to remember that one. Very good!
According to the Democrats sacred FAIRNESS DOCTRINE, the lowest common denominator determines the basic ethical, and moral standard for online manners on radio, TV and other forms of public speech.
Hence, from stage left, let all of us reconcile all public speech to the standards set by Howard Stern, John Stewart, and Bill Maher.
On that basis Rushs comments not only were accurate, but well above the public speech standard set by Stern, Stewart and Maher.
BTW, what is Fair about that?
I need to protest here, cuz Alinsky has got a bum rap. His famous work has been merely hijacked by the incompetent. I am in the process of finally reading his entire book, and he has many memorable quotes. the one that applies here is priceless...
"We are not here concerned with people who profess the democratic faith but yearn for the dark security of dependency where they can be spared the burden of decisions [and consequences.] Reluctant to grow up, or incapable of doing so, they want to remain children and be cared for by others. Those who can should be encouraged to grow; for the others, the fault lies not in the system, but in themselves."
How this perfectly applies to the mindless, clueless OWS crowd and their supporters, as well as shabbily worn remnants of the 60s, is nothing short of the ultimate irony.
Rush should’ve reserved “slut” and “prostitute” for these people No decent man would ever want them
As well as “traitors” “unpatriotic” “elitist hypocrites” “sexists” and “quota queens”
You forgot skank
Just for dessert, I'll throw in Gloria Allred who is 71 and who also is piping up in praise of Ms. Fluke.
It takes sluts to know one.
Leni
When they deal with their own (and herself in Fonda’s case) then we can talk.
I always love it when people who are in media and make their living using free speech/press begin warning us of the dangers of such things and suggest there should be limits on speech/press.
I’m a newbee and I think this is vintage leftyism running amok as it usually does. Someone should get zotted for saying that?
People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, and the filth of the left is legion. They shouldn’t have brought this up if they knew what was good for them, but since they have it is fair game for both Santorum and Gingrich.
There are some who need to be cleared from the planet...
