The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19 (see trends).
Looking at Tuesday's upcoming primaries, the GOP race in Alabama is essentially a three-way tie, while Mitt Romney leads by eight in Mississippi. Nationally, Romney now leads Rick Santorum by 12 points. Regardless of who they want to win, 80% of Republican Primary Voters nationwide believe Romney will be the party's nominee.
With the perception growing that he will be the GOP nominee, Romney leads President Obama by five points in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Today's numbers show Romney at 48%, Obama at 43%. I’m not pimping for Romney, I honestly hate the guy. I was a Cain supporter way back when.
But. I believe Romney and Santorum have the best chance against 0 with Romney doing a little better. Even with all the negatives. Romney is better than Obama. It’s a fact, because noone is as bad as 0. I miss Hillary when I think of that man.
Mitt, Rick, Ron, Newt..... Combine them all and you have the perfect candidate, or close enough, but know this, whoever the next President is will define the direction that America goes as she must deal with the debt and entitlements or face complete collapse and bankruptcy of the currency. Obama will adopt purely socialist/communist measures to deal with the crisis which will ultimately work, for the short term anyway, but will mean we are ruled by dictatorship of government, America and her posterity will give up Freedom to save the currency. ABO will adopt purely capitalist measures to deal with the debt and that will work also but the OWS crowd will have a fit even as unemployed drops into the 4 percent range, the deficits are gone and the national debt begins to a slow tick backward. Entitlements must be addressed, it is time to tell our children that there is a better way than relying on government to care for them, we must give them the opportunity to make their own way with the same freedom and liberty that generations before left to us anything less is a dis-service and will result in the enslavement of our children and theirs. This election is not about us, we are not the ones we are waiting for, it is about our future, our children and theirs and what they will be left with, so vote like your children’s lives depend on it because that is what is at stake.
Why is it I have such a hard time believing you? I also supported Cain. I don’t particularly agree with Newt or Santorum, but at least they both understand conservatism. In our primary, I was still going to vote for Cain, but when I saw all the lies coming from Mitt’s people and all the trashing he was doing of Newt, I voted for him as the anti-Mitt candidate in our primary. If I had been in Michigan subjected to all of the Santorum trashing coming from Mitt, I would have voted for Santorum. As a conservative, I can support either Newt or Santorum. Mitt Romney is a liberal and a socialist and will never have my support. But it seems you have been convinced by the GOP-E that he can win, when nothing could be further from the truth.
Obama and the democrats have been preparing for years to run against him. They knew even before we realized that the fix was in so that Romney would win. Now it is playing out in front of our eyes, every rule change, every vote count in his favor whether he actually won or not. The democrats are ready. Occupy wall street was specifically set up as the foundation to defeating Romney.
You must be one of the misguided people in the South who have no idea about Romney’s liberal background. Once the DNC makes his liberal background known, conservatives in the South will not vote for him. How many people down in Georgia do you know would vote for a man who started gay marriage in this country, who laid out the blue print for Obamacare, who set up a program that allows people to abort their babies for free? When they start letting people know what is in the book of Mormon, you’ll see more bible belt people come out to vote against him than you can imagine.
How do you live in the South and not know any of this? I was born in the South but I lived many years in NY. When I came back down here, the first thing I learned was they don’t like Mormons and believe me I was shocked at the intensity of that dislike.
You should also know that the base of republican power is the South. Romney can’t win in the South now. What do you think will happen after the democrats trash him like he’s been trashing the conservatives in the race? The conservatives will be demoralized. The dems will be able to use Mitt’s own mouth to prove their case. Without the South, no republican can win. That is a fact. The only areas of strength Romney has is in tiny electoral states like Utah and urban areas, where he has no chance because Obama will clean up. It will be a blood bath, an electoral slaughter. The scale of the loss will make it look like Obama is one of the most beloved presidents in history.
I don’t want to see that happen. I have to wonder, why you do.

Well then Mr. Robinson will need to ZOT half of Free Republic since at least half of the folks here are supporting Santorum, not Gingrich. If one gets zotted merely for expressing opposition to Newt, then I really don’t want to be a part of Free Republic. But frankly, I think Mr. Robinson is secure enough in his choice of candidate that he can accept some criticism of him-—and like I said I doubt he really wants to lose half his contributors/readers.
Ooops. I actually fact-checked that she is black and somehow messed up. She IS in the ‘black women of the White House’ photo but perhaps seated because she is the boss. LOL. Jewish or whatever she is, she is one of the most hardcore progressive-socialist-commie-pinko-Marxists in the White House. I HATE her.

I could try to look up the other part too, if you like - that Romney says it’s OK because it’s a state and not the feds. I think he’s been pretty clear on saying that’s why he opposes Obamacare and not Romneycare. Let me know if you’d like me to document that too.
