Here’s a sidebar comment.

My high school with a total student population of slightly more than 500 was able to hire The Chiffons for our prom. Student voting selected them over Boots Randolph, more slow dances. ;>)

For the younger FR members, sometimes life really was as portrayed in the movies and American Band Stand.

Life was good, very good.
Now it’s inconceivable that a top forty group would be affordable for a small high school dance
