The year 1963 was to be another banner year for
Gerry Goffin and Carole King. It started well with a tune that made the Top 10.
The Cookies would later go on to become the Raelettes, the backup vocalists for Ray Charles.

Howdy, Taz! (((hugs)))
We have been getting a drizzly rain since last night. It hasn’t added up to much but with the cool damp weather, there’s not much evaporation. AND...Master Gardener has been able to capture a lot in his rain barrels! ;)

“Try a Little Tenderness” goes back to Ray Noble and 1932.

A major badge of success for Brill Building composers was to cross over to the country charts, where a lot of money could be made. In this case, it was country artist Skeeter Davis who crossed over to the world of pop with this
Gerry Goffin and Carole King tune in 1963. The Middle 8 is brilliant.
It has a Neil Sedaka feel to it.

Good evening, Taz!
*HUGS*
Great to see you this evening!
Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
