Fox News host Greta Van Susteren announced this evening that she will be boycotting the 68th annual Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents' Dinner over the selection of a comic to headline the dinner who has repeatedly attacked Sarah Palin using vile sexual terms.
Another pig .and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott.
The headliner of this years Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is comedian Louis C.K. Comedian? I dont think so. Pig? yes.
He uses filthy language about women ..yes, the C word and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States. It isnt just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh.
I refuse to show any support for this guy or for the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner Committee who hired him. I think the organization that hired him is just as bad as he is. It is no secret that he denigrates women.
SNIP
Free Republic brought to prominence the matter of Louis CK hosting the dinner by keeping an original article on the dinner published in Breaking News. The article was picked on Twitter and by several bloggers.
The article picked up on news about the dinner reported by Brent Bozell at Newsbusters. Bozell had mentioned the dinner earlier that day but had buried it in a column about the Rush Limbaugh-Sandra Fluke controversy.
Van Susteren is showing more courage than one would expect, as the 2012 chairman of the RTCA is a Fox D.C. colleague, John L. Wallace III.

Greta, you are a classy Lady...Thank you for standing up for what is right!
Greta seems to have a special place in her heart for Sarah and Todd Palin and their family. They've spent a lot of time together. Greta even rode on the back of Todd's snow machine in Alaska, and hung out with Sarah and her extended family, interviewing Sarah as she cooked moose stew in her kitchen (these videos were aired on her show over a year ago). I think Greta and Sarah Palin are good friends - they sincerely seem to like one another.
Greta's show is one of the best on Fox News these days, IMO.
Thanks for this thread, kristinn, and way to go, Greta!
They just spend their time trying to shame innocent people they disagree with using lies and innuendo.
Good for Greta! She is a patriot!
Thanks Greta !
She has grown a lot in the last few years in clarity and courage.
Her BS meter has become very well attuned.
Beautifully said. Couldn”t add a thing.
You nailed it. I think seeing the horrible treatment of Sarah Palin was Greta’s red pill-blue pill moment. It was so over the top and so irrational that she just couldn’t carry that liberal water anymore. She took the red pill and saw what is really going on and it has made her mad.
Greta has a backbone! God’s power to her. She is one of the journalists I hold up in prayer every night.
well done Greta if only more in the MSM would actually have the guts you do and show some class as well.
Is it too much for our news to not be a biased news, sadly today and the last few years it does seem so.

I watched O’Reilly and Hannity, before Greta. They both devoted a lot of time to the subject of people like Mahre making demeaning comments about women like Sarah Palin.
The one thing that stands out is that NEITHER of them bothered to mention that that asshole Geraldo, on O’Reilly’s program with Michelle Malkin, called her a whore and said if he encountered her on the street he would spit on her.
O’Reilly just sat there and said nothing. NO ONE at FoxNews has ever criticized Geraldo for his blatant name calling and spewed hatred toward Michelle on live TV.
Malkin had been subbing in for O’Reilly occasionally like Ingraham does, but she was either cut off or decided to leave on her own. Thankfully, she still appears as a contributor on several FNC programs.
I wish folks would email/twitter/etc. to FoxNews and point out their hypocrisy in slamming others for demeaning women but ignoring that their own Geraldo did so.
Your posting #37 is excellent and I agree with all of it.
Greta is THE best interviewer on TV, for the reasons that you stated; she allows the person to answer questions and does not always then go to her own pre-prepared questions. Greta lets the interviews evolve. And, she treats liberals and conservatives fairly; not showing her personal biases.
As she and her husband are Scientologists, she shows a lot of discipline in the performance of her profession.
Isn’t Greta (and her hubby) good friends with Bill and Hillary also?
Imagine her, listening to both sides - - - !
Interesting . . .
Choose to believe she remains on the good side of all that co-mingling.
‘Malkin had been subbing in for O’Reilly____’
Sometime back, there was a situation where Michelle Malkin expected O’Reily to defend her. He didn’t, and she was gone from there.
It was probably about what you said Geraldo said.
I have seen her only on Hannity, but I don’t see everything. . .
Like both Greta and Malkin.
Guess you read post 85 - - s i g h . . .
thank you for that info.
I have given up on watching O.R and can’t stomach Hannity so I appreciate that info.
As for Geraldo, the man went to the occupy lot in NY city and said “don’t let those jerks get you down”
Meaning people like us. He did this on FOX time and was caught on camera and her gets away with it and no one from FOX called him out as far as I know.
Geraldo has called a lot of people and used his position to pretend he’s some kind of journalist while pushing his liberal socialist agenda and then he sits there and tells people he’s a republican.
What Geraldo does is to think of his time back in the 60’s and wants to go back to it while thinking he was one of the fathers of that lunatic movement.
BTW I sent mail about it
I completely agree, and Greta has leveraged her cross-examination skills to become one of the best and sharpest interviewers I`ve ever seen.
As someone who keeps her political positions off the front burner and treats all with fairness and respect, Greta is what all journalists should aspire to be.
