Soledad OBrien and her CNN panel manage to stumble into Contessa Brewer territory in this appearance by attempting to paint Breitbart.com editor-in-chief Joel Pollak as a racist for making a point about Barack Obamas support for a proponent of critical race theory during his days at Harvard Law School. Joel ends up in an argument with a woefully unprepared OBrien on the theory itself, but the actual facepalm moment goes to one of her panelists, who asks Joel why hes so afraid of black people:
CNN was MSNBC before MSNBC was MSNBC... So MSNBC has been aping CNN... put that in your pipe and smoke it...

Let CNN know at that link your thoughts about Soledad today.
Pollock appeared to very good effect and he will be able to cope with any opposition he encounters on television. He perhaps will be more effective than Breitbart because he is more disciplined. He is unflappable, articulate, and pivots quickly from the defensive to offense
As to Solodad O'Brien, her reaction was not just reflexively left-wing, it was to uncritically accept the conventional wisdom. Analogize her defense of Harvard University, the critical theory etc. with the media's unshakable conviction that the natural born citizen status of Barack Obama has been definitively established by the powers of Hawaii and Nancy Pelosi. However one feels about Obama's provenance, it is indisputable that the issue was never opened to the public by the media.
What are you talking about? This country has rarely seen woman hating at the levels directed at Sarah Palin since she entered the race in ‘08.
BTTT
Yep. I should look that good. LOL.
HUH you have misinterpreted what was said.
The comments are not about us it’s about what the left use against us thus they cannot use those talking points again.
Wow my respect for him rose 100 fold when I realized his wife was black but that he did not bring that up in the interview to “defend” himself against charges of racism. It takes a big man to stay silent.
“However one feels about Obama’s provenance, it is indisputable that the issue was never opened to the public by the media.”
This is the same media that will, on-demand from their liberal masters, attack conservatives with a vengence. The MSM is totally corrupt. Pushing propaganda pays quite well for those that support the liberal agenda. Loyal members of the press are rewarded with ready access to policy makers and a steady flow of information for their stories. Even a chance of a good paying job in the administration. There’s an incestuous quid pro quo, no doubt about it.
Julia is drop dead beautiful!
Earlier this week on FR someone said that Breibart was the master of leaking a little information at a time causing the main stream media to spin it before he showed his hand. I think I may have just witnessed that on this video. Soledad had to spin ‘critical race theory’ as essentially innocuous.
I’m honestly embarassed for Soledad O’Brien. That display was incredibly childish. Pollak reminded me of an adult patiently attempting to explain something to a defiant teenager who didn’t want to listen, just wanted to argue based on emotion. And as if Soledad weren’t enough, the white guy was just ignorant. He had no argument whatsoever, just wanted to throw around some inflammatory question about Pollak being afraid of blacks. If there are reasonable, thinking people at CNN they’d be utterly embarassed and would immediately yank those two off the air.
“someone said that Breibart was the master of leaking a little information at a time causing the main stream media to spin it before he showed his hand”
You can always count on a predictable knee jerk reaction such as this by the MSM. They are so easy to bait, and like in jujitsu, one fights by using the opponent’s own strength and weight against them.

What’s up with these racist Irish people? First O’Bama and now O’Brien.
After watching that video and witnessing how focused Mr. Pollak was on the point of the topic, it is obvious the racism that was hurled at him was never going to drag him down to their level. I noted from the gleam in his eye and the smile on lips when he responded that he was not afraid of black people he had a juicy secret those panel racists didnt know. Looks to me that those left behind at Brietbart.com know full well how this new information age is going to deck these clowns. Joel did not need to bring in his wife to win an small victory in the heat of the moment. What a huge moment and a big win for Joel and for Andrew.

Hmm. Someone just re-tweeted one of Soledad’s posts from last year. Apparently she’s a Derrick Bell fan (I know, surprise surprise).

Something is up!
