Atlanta (CNN) - With the recognition that Super Tuesday did not deliver a knock-out punch for Mitt Romney and that the Republican primary contest is expected to continue for the foreseeable future, the super PAC supporting Romney's bid has bought almost $1.4 million worth of ads in states that don't vote until the end of March.
The group told CNN it has purchased $937,000 worth of air time in Illinois, which votes on March 20 and $451,000 for commercials in Louisiana, which holds its primary on March 24.
With much of the political world's attention now focused on Alabama and Mississippi, which vote next week, the super PACs supporting Romney and Newt Gingrich are engaged in a multi-million dollar ad war in those two states.
Taking advantage of its major cash advantage, Restore Our Future has bought more than $2 million in Alabama and Mississippi in broadcast and cable time through the primaries,...is running a combination of ads criticizing both Santorum and Gingrich

Romney's campaign just weighed in with a $165,000 buy for broadcast ads in Alabama. Gingrich's campaign just bought $20,000 of cable time in Alabama and Mississippi.
The super PAC pushing Romney also is aiming its fire at Santorum in several mailers sent to Alabama voters.
In one obtained by CNN, the pro-Romney Restore Our Future attacks Rick Santorum for "Typical behavior from a real Washington insider."
The mailer reads: "Like Most D.C. insiders Rick Santorum has a problem. He puts his interests ahead of ours!" The flier specifically criticizes Santorum for voting for a bill allowing felons to vote.

The other side of the pamphlet shows a sign saying "Vote here" with the word "felons" written above it and next to it. It states: "Rick Santorum voted with Hillary Clinton to allow felons

True? Rick is getting vetted.
Still doing Romney’s work, eh?
2 Q’s. What monotous Senate bill was this attached to?
AND
If a member of society is convicted of a crime, does their time and fulfills their debt to society set force in the sentencing guidelines, then why shouldn’t their basic citizenship rights be restored AFTER the debt is fulfilled (does not include Parole).
Get a clue. Just like your pal SteelFishy who is working for Romney.
Rick should be proud of himself for a strong showing.
So it was OK to run an unprecedented amount, 20+ million dollars, in negative ads against Newt in FL, and it was Santo who benefited from the Romney attack machine, ads that are full of lies. Rick would not be where he is now was in not for Romney’s BS machine.
You and I have been saying the same things.
Rick Santorum, however, despises Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich. His personal animus towards Gingrich goes way, way back to Congress.
The impetus to change the election’s rhetoric must come from the candidates. We two see the entire forest, but the candidates, they’re deep in all those trees. Do you undertand?
Wasn’t that just “vetting”?
Rick should be proud of himself for a strong showing.
I agree, U-238.
I’m helping going to be involved with Rick’s efforts in WI. Any WI. Freepers willing to help, please contact me in private mail..
I have to say I honestly do not like him. I don't trust him and I don't think he believes what he tells us..
I feel the same about Mitt, but he doesn't repulse me as much as Rick does..
I can't explain it.
I see Rick as a school yard bully, who taunted the less popular kids.. He may not have been like that in school, as a matter of fact, he could have been on the receiving end of the bullying.. until he outshined them in real life.. Either way, he is not someone I feel comfortable with, running our country.. Just my feelings.. nothing more!
Sure....if lying is “vetting.” Keeping score, it was Santo who also dumped on Newt in FL while Newt has only recently ran some robocalls against Rick. BTW, Santo also has some of his ads up in Mississippi and Alabama.
I don't know what monotonous bill that vote was attached to, but I do know which bill the following santorum amendment was attached to, which took 80 million dollars from American veterans and gave it to the Catholic Church in a sweetheart land dead... As for me, I'd rather have Newt sitting on the couch, then Santorum joining forces with Ted Kennedy to rip off military heroes. How about you?
read the following... if you have enough courage. It is filled with FACTS about Santorum, and then answer me this question:
What does it say about a man who presents himself as THE principled candidate, and does something like this, to American veterans, and what does it say about the people who support him because they consider him the most principled candidate... I think once they seen the evidence the people can decide who's principled and who's not... please just answer my question... thank you very much. And if you can't or wont' answer it, maybe it's time to shut up until you can defend your candidate's self-righteous pronouncements and his past record... much of it so far uncovered..
Just my feelings.. nothing more!
I still haven’t seen evidence of this florida “dumping”, given that Santorum ran no ads in FLorida, and did no Robocalls.
I want to encourage everyone to research the candidates. We shouldnt vote for someone just because they arent Obama. Many people voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976, and all because he wasnt Gerald Ford!
I despise Romney!
Exit polls in Ohio indicated that Romney is getting moderates and dissatisfied Democrats, liberals who will not vote for a do-over by BHO2.
I suspect that is why the GOPe have been promoting Romney. As he was a liberal-governing Massachusetts, he can attract liberal Democrats away from BHO2.
For Romney, and Wall Street in particular, are Globalists who care not a wit for conservative values. First and foremost, they see themselves as world citizens, responsible for maintaining peace and security world-wide through commerce. And of course, getting rich is important, too, as it keeps the military machine primed and ready to maintain the all important security overseas.
Unfortunately, that military is paid for by tax revenue and staffed by the sons and daughters of people who no longer have jobs, as those have all been moved offshore by the above mentioned world citizens.
For those who do not know what Im talking about, heres a quick primer.
This election in 2012 is all about money, power, and who will eventually wield both here at home and internationally.
Gov.Mitt Romney is the candidate for the elitist Republicans who are, in essense, supporters of Globalism.
Wall Streets business model is international in scope and must have security overseas in order for commerce to thrive. In an attempt to dominate international commerce AND the monetary structure, the U.S.A. must project military strength world wide. This is neither conservative nor liberal in orientation and both Democrats and Republicans have been involved over the decades.
Until Obama arrived on the scene. Hes all about Global Social Justice (communism) which means redistributing wealth.
The only thing that matters to Republican Globalists is making money for themselves. They dont give a damn about the rights of individuals. The common man or woman on the street is just a unit to be taxed or obliterated, it matters not to them.
The last thing they want is for conservatives with Bibles and guns asserting their God-given rights and demanding that Washington, D.C., changes how it does business.
Senator Rick Santorum made big bucks selling his ability to get legislation passed for the Globalists above. For the past month Ive been researching this man and he is not the staunch conservative he wants all of us to believe.
Ron Paul is a shill for Romney. Many Texans are embarrassed now, as they believed Pauls lies.
Newt Gingrich has promised to change how Washington, D.C., does business.
The U.S. is $16 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT. The five major banks in this nation are holding European debt instruments valued at $250 TRILLION DOLLARS. When, not if, those debt instruments default, those five U.S. banks will collapse, and you can kiss the money in your bank account goodbye. Neither Romney nor Santorum have a plan on how to get us out of debt.
Newt Gingrich does, and it involves this nation becoming energy independent. He laid it all out in a speech to Republicans in San Francisco, February 26, 2012.
I strongly suggest that people backing Santorum here on Free Republic deeply research Rick Santorum. When he first ran for Congress he claimed to be pro-abortion and posed as the anti-Reagan. People do change, I know that. But character rarely does, if ever.
Documentation, please, with regard to Sarah Palin?
Santorum-Gingrich animosity dating back to congressional days would not surprise me, though I'd like to see links. People seem to have either loved or hated Gingrich if they were in Congress when he was there. It wasn't only Bill Clinton who accused Gingrich of acting like an “out-of-control radio talk show host” — not realizing that was actually a compliment in the ears of lots of Gingrich supporters.
BTW, Of course Santorum has ads up. He wants to win the Presidency, and he’s going to compete in every state.
I know Gingrich skipped most of February, and is skipping next week’s Kansas election, but the candidates who actually want to win the nomination usually at least TRY to compete in most of the contests.
The “Southern Strategy”, whatever it’s “purpose”, has the effect of making it impossible for any conservative to actually win the nomination, if it succeeeds. There aren’t enough delegates in the south to win, but there aren’t enough conservatives elsewhere to win without the south.
I’m sorry, I don’t qualify as evidence the biased reporting of a political opponent’s website.
And as a Veteran myself (and still a drilling Reservist) the idea you would try to paint Rick Santorum as Anti-Veteran is sickening. This is no different from the idiots that tried to paint Bachmann as Anti-Veteran when she was working on a restructuring plan that would keep the debt ceiling from being raised but allow all obligations to be met.
Mittens thanks you for peddling his lies !
Mittens hates conservatives too !
The flier specifically criticizes Santorum for voting for a bill allowing felons to vote.
I am surprised that Romney is against this since he supports people who act like felons like his company who hired illegals to do his grounds and other taskings. He trusted them to be on his property and most likely used his facilities....maybe offer a drink of water or snack....lunch anyone? This is bogus as is all Romney.
