BTW, Of course Santorum has ads up. He wants to win the Presidency, and he’s going to compete in every state.
I know Gingrich skipped most of February, and is skipping next week’s Kansas election, but the candidates who actually want to win the nomination usually at least TRY to compete in most of the contests.
The “Southern Strategy”, whatever it’s “purpose”, has the effect of making it impossible for any conservative to actually win the nomination, if it succeeeds. There aren’t enough delegates in the south to win, but there aren’t enough conservatives elsewhere to win without the south.
Part of "that strategy" is getting the heard. You win and have a great message like Newt, you can get the heard back. Yes, conservatives have a heard. About 15% to 20% make up the heard. Now, Santo benefits from 'the heard' after they ran from Cain, Bachmann, Perry, and Newt. Rick is the last guy standing and now they are giving him the look.
Rick was fortunate that he was mired down there with RuPaul on the bottom for months. If Rick was the top candidate in the lead say in October or November of last year, he would have been taken down like the rest of them by the press and from an avalanche of negative ads by Mittens.
Oops,
heard = herd
