NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- In the U.S. government's biggest crackdown to date on a hacktivist group calling itself "Anonymous," four leaders and one other activist were arrested Tuesday and charged with a computer hacking conspiracy.
The U.S. Department of Justice also revealed Tuesday that it had snared the prime leader of an Anonymous offshoot group called LulzSec, which conducted a high-profile, two-month hacking rampage last summer against corporate and government targets.
-snip-
What particularly set the movement on edge was the conviction and apparent turning of the LulzSec leader Hector Xavier Monsegur, known by his hacker alias Sabu.

Where did you find that picture?
Some sort of artificial doughnut with synthetic chocolate armor made in Guandong Province.
FOX news had that one. Just Google it. There are a couple different ones.
People who believe their internet activities are hard to discover, to track, and to uniquely identify - check out these two items:
You know those cookie things - they are passed from agency to agency - and who knows what information is going with them. FireFox has a VERY Scary add on now that can show you the web you are weaving for yourself as you surf - it is called “Collusion” - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/collusion/
I have blocked many many cookies and scripts, and I still am in a huge web shown by Collusion. There is no such thing as being able to do things on the web privately now, it seems to me now.
You block all cookies? Think that will hide you? Check out how easily you are identified just by the information your browser sends out to allow the web to serve you properly: http://panopticlick.eff.org/ Last time I checked, I was uniquely identified by this method that has no dependency on cookies, etc.
How about you?
How about those in something like Anonymous? Do they believe they are not uniquely spotted by much more capable methods?
Kudos.
Since when do the Irish need a reason to be pissed off? [j/k]
Watch the FBI or the CIA hire him after he’s served his time.
From the article, I read that the Feds have his kids. That’s a big bargaining chip.
Or do you mean the hacker guy?
Excellent observation! They’ve had him and everything he knows/had, since June 7, 2011. Wow.
Besides the Stratfor site, what Conservative sites did they take down?
here is a list from last year. http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/02/the-list-of-websites-hacked-defaced-taken-down-by-anonymous/
Our gov't lets google do it for them...
Too bad the FBI, CIA, etc isn’t able to stop the commie chinese hackers.
Maybe, we can turn these freaks and get them to help give hell to the chi-coms. I know, they are sympathetic to the chicoms, but maybe some time with 300lb smelly bubba will motivate them.
heard about this?

anonymous hacker guys are mentioned... found it on a search for them. news to me. scary if true...
Its possible to uniquely identify you from what you type, your computer, and the sites you visit.
That was pretty funny.
Very long terms in prison for hackers and developers of trojans and malware are needed. Let’s say 10 years in prison for each hacked computer or computer invaded, sentences to run concurrently
These draconian measures would filter out all but the sociopaths, insane, and government intelligence agents using hacking to gain intel or to disrupt enemy government programs via computers.
exactly!
